Hot Stuff
I wasn’t ready for the blazing speed that this product is cable of as the heated panel was able to start cooking, sizzling the meat on its ridged surface in less than 30 seconds.A very interesting designed proprietary plug has the dial to gauge the temperature inclusive and I love how the amber light indicates that it is climbing towards your desired setting before achieving and blinking out.Placing those well loved streaks across the food due to its design there is no doubt that this affordable unit is on a real winning streak.

Easy to use and nice alternative to oven cooking or indoors – more grill than BBQ though
The BBQ Grill comes fully assembled. There are four elements to the device, the main body of the grill forming the outer casing and feet, the drip tray, the grill plate and the heating element. The grill plate will only fit one way to allow the heating element to be inserted into the device. If you put the grill plate on wrong the holes needed for the heating element will not align. The grill plate itself is a generous size at 41cm by 26cm, more than sufficient to cook for 4 to 6 people (we cooked lunch for 5 using the grill). The entire BBQ Grill unit measures 53cm x 32cm. To heat the device and prep it for food you simply insert the heating element, plug it into the power and set the desired temperature. There is a dial on the element that allows you to adjust the heat setting or turn it off completely. The grill seemed to heat up quite quickly, there is a light that confirms when the desired heat setting has been reached. The guide is to use the lowest heat possible and we found the middle heat setting was sufficient to cook meat at a nice speed, so it remained soft but cooked through. We used a very small amount of oil but regretted it as it did spit a bit and I don’t think it is actually required. Cleaning is a little fiddly as the main grill plate cannot be submerged into water. The heating element on the underside of the plate are exposed and I assume this would potentially damage it. You will need to stick to using soft, non-metal cleaning brushes to avoid damaging the non-stick surface. It is not a tricky task but a careful hand is needed. The drip try can be easily submerged in water for easy cleaning. We definitely enjoyed the meal we cooked using this. For us it is not the same as using a BBQ as we use charcoal or wood and you don’t get the flavouring associated with either using the BBQ Grill. But it made a nice alterative to oven cooking. You may need to think about where best to use it. Ideally I think you would want to put this under an extractor fan whilst using. Not possible for us though as the gas hob is located directly below the extractor fan, the hob surface would be too uneven for the BBQ Grill and would stop us being able to use the hob at the same time.

A well made 1,800 watts tabletop BBQ with a removable power cable. High price
5 temperature settings upto 210 Degrees (I can't verify that)Godo size non stick cooking surface (Circa 41 x 26cm) with a grease collection tray.Perfect for cooking in the kitchen or for self cooking at the dinner table (I advise resting the grill or suitable protection as does as expected gets hot.The amount of smoke is really affected by what you are cooking as you would expectDrip tray survived the dishwasher and the main grill we actually washed by hand.Unit is well made and I will update review after some additional use.Dropped a star due to the price which at £50 is very high, many other established competitors are at least 20% cheaper. Even other similar Quest grills appear better value.

NOT A DESIRABLE PRODUCT
I have to confess that I simply don't see the point of this kind of grill. For something like 40 years, I have had at least one sandwich grill, and if you want it to grill like this one does, all you have to do is open it out flat. But this is far from efficient, and the sandwich grill will do so many other tthings - and do them better than when opened flat. The sellers/manufacturers seek to liken this to a barbecue, but this is dissimulatory, to say the least; The original meaning of the word was to roast a whole animal on a huge gridiron (and before that to dry or cure foodstuff); but I don't think that anyone today would deny that the meaning has evolved to mean simply, cook on hot coals. And, ineluctably, there is no other way to obtain the unique, mouthwatering and wholly desirable barbecue taste. If you are lucky enough to live in a house that still has an open fireplace, you can barbecue on that at a pinch, but it's inclined to be a bit messy, not say hazardous occasionally; otherwise, it's outdoors with charcoal or nothing (unless you are wealthy enough to have a genuine coal-fired barbecue built into your kitchen, like certain restaurants one may have visited).I deem this product to be a failure. It's slow to cook (because most of the heat escapes), inconvenient to clean compared to my sandwich grills, and takes up far too much storage space when it's not in use. But I do recommend the sandwich grill as a kitchen accessory
