It is an excellent trim for the opening in a ceiling or wall for the exhaust piping.It fits well and is very sturdy.

Took a lot of sleuthing to find this flange. Loads of other flanges were male connectors going into the standard 4" vent but this one supports the vent and protects drywall from crumbling due to vent moving back and forth. I drilled a couple holes on opposite sides and secured it the drywall and voila, my vent looks so much neater with it installed.

This 4" Inch Air Vent Duct Connector Flange is the best thing to use for dryer exhaust ducts that come into the interior wall. Often there is just drywall and open space or foam insulation injected around the vent duct. I always use these 4" inch connector flanges since they add a lot of reinforcement to the exhaust vent duct and prevents the duct tube from moving when the dryer is moved. That is often what causes the exhaust vent duct to make a large hole in the drywall. After so many times, the hole get bigger. This flange is also wide enough to cover up about 1 to 1-1/2" inches around the through the wall exhaust vent duct. I simply use 4 one inch drywall or similar wood threaded screws to mount it into place. The photo shows the flange mounted on the interior duct of the dryer exhaust vent. The duct still has to be trimmed down to allow closer space behind the dryer and the exterior wall.
