I've put more than 5,000 miles on a Bafang bottom bracket pedal assist e bike kit. Through rain, cold,heat,dry and humid.I used this almost 5 days a week for almost three years and it still works as good as day one.I'm an avid bicyclist and do my own maintenance and repair and I should point out just like any piece of equipment to work properly it must be properly maintained. And that's pretty simple with this little gadget. Simply as uninstalling, cleaning your cable.And in case you are not familiar with how it works. It a simple magnetic reed valve as or switch in this case. When it registers the movement of the cable it sends a signal to your motor to disengage stopping power and saving your drive train from the unnecessary torque.And believe you me,these motors have torque. I have a 750watt 48 volt motor and with the right gearing (48x16 ) it will stand your bike up with you on it if you're not careful.I also purchased a programming cable and reset the default settings. For a day! Then thought better of it. The default settings work fine just as they are. Unless you are going to be moving 350 to 400 lbs and really need to adjust them and are experienced I would strongly recommend against playing with them.Take care and wear a helmet. You'll be glad you did and so will your family. I pray that you never wish you had one on and didn't. Especially if it is sitting in a closet or the garage collecting dust.Keep pedaling and stay safe.

Plug and play and I feel it's a must for any e-bike build with a rear derailleur. Fit my Bafang kit perfectly.

This review is for the gear shifting sensor that triggers the motor to momentarily shut down while you're shifting gears, so your chain and gears don't get damaged or worn excessively by hard, jarring shifts.This is a much-needed addition to the Bafang mid-drive e-bike conversion kit. Without it, every time you shift your rear derailleur the chain will slam into gear under power, shortening the life of both your chain and cogs. You could simulate this by slightly pressing on your brake while shifting (assuming your brakes have sensors on them), but it's nice to not have to think about it.This didn't fit my bike the way it shows in the video I saw. In the video, they show this being installed on a bike with cable casings. A section is cut out of the casing and this is installed where that used to be, with the remaining casing butting up to the sensor on both sides with a seal between the sensor and the casing. Although my bike has some casings, on most of the chain stay it is bare cable, and that is the only place where it was practical to install this.To get around the problem, I cut a length of old casing and installed it on both sides of this sensor, then zip tied the sensor and the casings to the chain stay. Without doing that, there is no way to keep water out because there is nothing to hold a seal in that would normally go between the casing and the sensor.But after getting around that problem and getting this installed, the bike shifts smoothly and without jarring the chain and gears.

OK el sensor funciona excelente al hacer los cambios él lo detecta pero no es tan sencillo como salen en el video de instrucciones si tu bicicleta el cable viene forrado y no como sale en el video de instrucciones que es el cable solo vas a tener que ponerle tensores y forro de cable en el orificio de entrada y de salida del sensor recomiendo colocar el cable completamente nuevo y el forro y los tensores nuevos para que no se pierda la tensión del cable al hacer los cambios y si tu bicicleta es de 10 velocidades de una vez te advierto que lo máximo que vas a poder llegar es al noveno plato sin perder la línea de la cadena

This sensor works great. Although the shift sensor is considered optional, it really isn't if you don't want your drive train destroyed by over-torque'd shifts. This sensor takes the motor load off for about .5 seconds when you shift so cog changes can occur smoothly without banging up your cassette and chain. Works great and really should be supplied with every conversion kit. Installation is straight forward but be prepared to swap out your shift cable at the same time.....my original cable was too short after adding the sensor because I needed some additional sweep to the derailleur.

This is a simple but needed addition to the Bafang kits to take the pressure off your drivetrain components. Easy to add and plugs in the kit seamlessly. This should be included with the Bafang kit!!
