Chantal Classic Teakettle, 1.8 QT, Enamel On Steel, 2-Tone Harmonica Whistle, Rapid Boil and Even Heating (Onyx)

Purchased this to replace my 25 yr-old teakettle of same brand & design which was starting to rust inside (my fault for sometimes forgetting to empty it out) but otherwise very tough and still beautiful after all those years.New one weighs 2 ounces less than old one. 2 3/8 lbs vs 2.5 lbs. Some reviewers wrote that this new version is cheaper than old. I don't find that to be the case, but time will tell. I hope it lasts another 20+ years.The spearmint color is beautiful.Instruction card did not explain that the harmonic whistle can be tuned. I remembered this from before. Found a youtube video explaining how to tune. Same video explained how to adjust and lubricate one of the parts in the hinge.

This is an uncomplicated tea kettle. I needed to replace a very old tea kettle which has started to rust. This one works well for our needs.

Handle gets very hot

Owned a solid Chantal which we bought 20 yrs ago but when it finally rusted bought this new one that was supposed to celebrate the “original” one. This pot was so light and flimsy we thot it was a knock off! It’s not sturdy, has a handle which is not as comfy even tho it looked like it was the same. Handle is off center and the whistle top is flimsy. The whistle is not as loud either but does have the two tones. It Just seems as quality goes downhill so does Chantals with it unfortunately. I thot this company would have been a proud producer and would have had enough pride in their products to keep them the same. Boo- Cheaper but still just as pricey! I don’t know that I will spend this much money again on a tea kettle.

The kettle only plays one note instead of 2 notes. I had a kettle from Villeroy & Boch and the sound was much better and the handle did not get hot.

this is my second lovely Chantel tea kettle.the first one lasted 30 years.all of my beautiful Chantel enameled cookware cook evenly and wash up easily.definitely worth the price.

This Chantal Classic tea kettle is my favorite kettle I have ever owned and I have owned many. The first one I bought lasted over 20 years! I love that it whistles. The colors are bright and beautiful. The classic look of the kettle is appealing. It heats the water fast as the bottom is wide. I was just so happy that I could find this replacement for my older one and that it looked and worked the same! This will always be my first pick as long as Chantal makes this kettle. Highly recommended!

I just ordered this tea kettle and love the sounds it makes when it boils. It’s much more soothing than any other kettle out there. It came with a handle cover, which is great if you have a gas stove, because it does get hot. The only downside is the nozzle does not auto open when you pour - you have to manually open it (which also gets hot). Not a deal breaker for me but different than kettles I’ve had in the past so I felt it was worth mentioning.

I like these kettles as they have no plastic parts in them for hot water contact. This is my 4th Chantal kettle and I like look of them as well. Great quality.

Owne red collor cattle same brand for many years, and I am very happy with quality, stile and the most Hohner harmonica whistle. Deceide for new purchase and continue with same brand only opted for onyxcolor. Love it.

This replaced an older Chantel that i accidentally left on the burner long after its water evaporated, destroying the induction plate in the process(a big no-no in Chantel's directions. . .but I had the thing for nearly ten years).Nice addition to the last purchase was the inclusion of a little quilted handle mit(thank you!)The only improvement is to open the lid without having to pull the lid off. . . other than that - great kettle!

1. crazy expensive - was a big gift so bought it even with poor reviews2. Arrived, looks great but would not whistle3. Unlike the photo the top handle is super close to the lid handle - there is no way to pick it up without touching the lid handle = burn. You have to use a big oven mitt, thats the only way, the tiny handle thing they provide helps with top handle but then your knuckle hits lid top - ask me how I know!Poor design all around. Returned it 3 days after getting it.
