Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Mini Camera Video Module 5MP 1080P Sensor OV5647 Camera Video Module for Raspberry Pi Model A/B/B plus, Pi 2 and Raspberry Pi 3 Mode 3B+

A cheap & relatively cheerful little camera. I'm using it with a Raspberry Pi 3b, mounted to my 3D printer to monitor prints. Picture quality is best compared to a mid-2000s webcam & the long fixed focus point doesn't make this the ideal choice for close-range footage, but it does the job & given the small price that's to be expected.Installation is easy enough - insert the ribbon cable to the port on each device's circuit board and clamp it down. However, you need to be a little careful as the camera lens itself is mounted at one end on another ribbon-type cable which clips into a port on the PCB - that can become partially (or fully) detached quite easily when handling and the camera won't function unless you clip it back in.The provided cable is very short, so unless you're going to sit the camera directly on your Raspberry Pi, you'll need a longer ribbon cable (available separately for a few pounds at time of writing).Red light glows to show the camera is active. This started up straight away once connected to the Pi running OctoPi / and OctoPrint showed the webcam feed immediately. Plenty of housing & mount options available online for this that can be 3d printed in a couple of hours.

This device works as expected. It is way better than the USB camera I previously used in my Raspberry Pi. I use it with Motioneye OS and it works perfect for my needs.
