Works great but you need to have a T4 Torx bit
I have an older Garmin unit, and the battery finally died. To get to the battery, I needed a T4 Torx bit to separate the shell. Inside, the main circuit board was held in place with aluminum T4 Torx screws, which were immediately stripped when I tried to loosen them. I simply drilled the heads off of them to lift the board and access the battery. Removing to old battery, which is stuck to the plastic shell, isn't easy at first, but it comes out. The replacement battery drops right in and is easy to hook up. Don't worry about securing the circuit board once again. Everything is held in place once you close the outer shell. So if you have a T4 Torx bit, the process is relatively simple if you are handy. Some other batteries come with tools but at a higher price. I tend to be thrifty. So far, the battery has functioned flawlessly.

Fits Garmin DriveSmart 55. Easy to Install but Not as good OEM.
This is a direct replacement battery for the Garmin DriveSmart 55 GPS / SatNav for Autos and possibly other models. To disassemble the navigation unit, you need a single T5 Torx screwdriver, and a small prybar. Pry it open after removing 4 torx screws off the back, the unit separates closer to the screen side, but be careful not to actually pry off the digitizer screen, there is a plastic border that you want to pry off. The motherboard inside is attached with another 4 torx screws. Simply unscrew the motherboard and detach the battery cable. There is a light double sided sticky tape attaching the OEM battery to the back case. Now about the battery, the OEM Garmin one is 820mAh providing 3.3Wh. This item, the Cameron Sino brand battery, provides 750mAh at 2.73Wh. It does the job and the Garmin self tests do not throw any errors, albeit lower in capacity. For the price, it is still worthwhile to get this item, especially if your OEM Garmin battery stops holding a charge or starts expanding. This is a fraction of the price of getting a whole new unit.

Seems to work fine!
Install was simple as most. Now my Garmin 51 is usable while not having to be constantly plugged in that makes is great for setting up routes and waypoints away from the vehicle.

charge degrades in 10 days
A good Lipo battery should hold a charge for at least 30 days. This one self discharged into the red zone in 10 days. I will have to keep it plugged in to the car for the battery to last.
