Healthy Whole Food Plant Based Eating is affordable!
Kathy Allen Davis has done it again with another fantastic SOS Whole Food Plant Based Cookbook.I was provided an advanced copy by the publisher and agreed to do a review, good or bad.... Happy to report the book is beyond good!Kathy begins by introducing what the Whole Food Plant Based Diet is all about, then explains why of SOS. Next she talks to the reader about budget friendly food planning and how to do it. She then gets into building your pantry and how to make your food last after spending your hard earned dollars on it.Chapter 2 gets into the shopping lists and three weeks of meal plans, and prep schedules. Then Chapter 3 starts the amazing recipes! When I sat down to start looking through this book to do a review it was 10:00 pm! I wanted to get up and go to my kitchen within the first 15 minutes of looking at the recipes and start cooking. The Mushroom Umami Sauce is amazing and the Potato and Lentil Breakfast Gravy is stellar! These two are already going to be regulars in my recipe rotation. Next on the list is the Smoky Kale and Pinto Bean Salad. Thanks Kathy for your passion in getting the word out there about how easy and tasty Whole Food Plant Based SOS cooking can be!

Plant-based made so easy! It's the most thoughtfully planned cookbook out there!
10/10 would recommend :)This is the most thoughtfully laid out cookbook I've found yet. If you're not sure if you can do plant-based or if you're in a rut (like I was) this book the perfect way to get started!!!! Kathy Davis did an amazing job breaking it down! There's a meal planning guide that goes through building your pantry staples, making food last (the fresh herbs trick works!), and cost saving tips. But to me, the VERY BEST part is that there is a 3-week meal plan already created for you with shopping lists! It's broken out by week so you don't feel overwhelmed and the menu has the recipe's page numbers right there. The menus are incredibly thoughtful too, identifying when you will be eating leftovers (dinner one night can be lunch the next day), and even a layer deeper, when considering your ingredients - so you're not buying a million different ingredients for one week! The other thing I love about this cookbook is that there are a few labels identifying easiness! one pot, 5-ingredient or quick meals that make choosing what to make even easier if you aren't following the meal plans.Try it!

Super simple, healthy recipes
Even though I love to cook, I want my recipes to be simple. That's what Kathy offers in this cookbook - the recipes are really accessible to people no matter their interest in spending time in the kitchen. They are also perfect for people just getting into plant-based eating, since all of the ingredients are easily found in most grocery stores. I really like the weekly meal plan and shopping list. Even if it's not used exactly, it provides a good template for people to create their own weekly plans. Highly recommend this book!

Affordable and delicious plant-based recipes that are so easy to make!
This just might be my favorite book yet! I don’t know how she does it but three great cookbooks is an amazing task. I was provided an advanced copy and couldn’t wait to test these recipes.I love that everything is easy to follow and simple to make. It’s so helpful to have an idea of the cost for each serving as well. We’re a salt-free, oil-free house so the Mushroom Umami has been a dream. It adds flavor and depth without all of the salt. My favorite recipes so far are the Cabbage Slaw with Peanut Sauce, Smoky Baked Tofu, Oat and Banana Pancakes, and the Ratatouille Pasta. I highly recommend this cookbook and look forward to cooking my way through the rest of these delicious recipes!
