Sweet Crunch... best definition and response!
Ok, I won't repost observations that others have already posted but here are a few things I noticed:The sound is so crisp and clear it is a little difficult to take in all of the nuances of the frequency response and the exceptional clarity. At first, I thought the sound was underwhelming... but after listening, and listening closely... I was AMAZED by the crisp, distinctive, and precise response from the speaker (s). This is about the size of a bookshelf speaker AND it puts out sound that is so lifelike you could close your eyes and imagine you are in the Studio with the artist. As others have mentioned it is the loudest bluetooth speaker I have heard... but more than that, there is very little distortion as the volume is increased. Usually you will see an increase in distortion as you push the amp taking the volume over 50%... I took the speaker to volume level 8 (typically I won't push the volume over 50%... but I was testing)... This speaker delivers full, well defined responses with crisp highs, well defined mids and really solid base.I have found this speaker to perform well with any type of music but as others have noted there is a Sweet spot that can be found playing 70's and 80's rock... Crunch!!Hooking it up to my tv as soon as the av cable gets here... (Amazon, hurry up)

If it sounds good, I like it
I am going to review my entire setup in one review (3 products) and post to all three items. I hope this helps someone who is curious what to buy and what works together. Let me preface by saying I am not an audio junkie. If it sounds good, I like it. If it acts funny and I can't relax as intended, I don't like it. I previously had a 1959 RCA Victor cabinet model, sounded great but not dependable. I switched to this setup for dependability.I am using the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon DC (red) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IIMXA4U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 From that I went through the Behringer Microphono Pp400 Ultra-Compact Phono Preamp https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H2BC4E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and then into the Marshall Stanmore Bluetooth Speaker, Black https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FSUJQOC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also used a few RCA cables https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I0HPK4G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1The system is awesome. On the turntable I simply put a record on, flip a switch for the motor. On the speaker I turn it on and then sound comes out. I never get it past level 3 because the sound is so loud. This thing has a lot of volume. I would recommend this setup to anyone. Easy to install (even for beginners) easy to use. Sound is great, turntable is flawless. I have never spent this much on sound equipment, but I am glad I did.I also went with a bluetooth transmitter so I can listen on a second speaker in a different room, which works great, but the speaker I bought for that is not the best. The transmitter works perfectly but the speaker doesn't work in a room kind of far away. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P24XKS8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Sound is amazing and the bass is powerful in a good way if you turn it up
I've owned this speaker now for about 6 months and I love it.+ Sound is fantastic. The best speaker I've had for computer use.+ Bass and Treble are both superb and there are knobs so you can dial it the way you like it.+ It has blue tooth and I use it because less clutter and don't personally perceive a difference in the audio quality.+ It also comes with ordinary stereo input AND a L/R input.+ Like most blue tooth devices it turns itself off/on depending on if you are outputting any sound.+ The retro look is awesome.- It's not small, so don't expect to carry it around with you all the time.- It has to be plugged into a power outlet. It does not run on a rechargeable battery. Not a big deal since it's not meant to go everywhere with you but would have been nice. It's all I hoped it would be when I ordered it and I wanted to wait and review it to see how it held up after a bit of time.

Adjusted reviw now that I have been using it for a while. They gained a star
Very disappointing... The brown model doesn't have the optical port, and of course they don't tell you that, and even though they don't show a picture with the brown model having and optical port, they lead you to believe that it does by making it look like the same model when clearly it is not. Okay they lose 1 star for misleading me (marking is its own worst enemy). If I had known the truth I would have purchased he white one which they clearly show with a fiber optic port (although I found out later it doesn't have it either it is the old model). Okay lets review. The device seems sturdy in all aspects but one which may be part of the design. The toggle switch and push buttons seem to be of high quality which is what I would expect from a device carrying he name Marshall. The only concern I have is the sponginess of the knobs which seem to help with fine tuning, and you will need to fine tune this baby especially when adjusting the volume on the lower end of the dB spectrum (volume). Which, I was able to do just fine. Anyway, if the sponginess is part of the design great, If you have the brown model it has great sound and volume for my 1 bedroom apartment. I hookup my analog cd player with highdeff CDs an using the RCA ports I can get that wider range in audio band, and it is great to hookup an analog turntable to it, without a doubt. I was worried that I didn't get the 200Watt model but this model meets all my needs except the aforementioned port. But I must say with the active stereo, bluetooth, and 2 analog inputs (RCA ports and 8th inch- 3.5mm jack) you can get a lot of enjoyment and some GREAT quality sound. Active stereo is a must now a days, nothing worse than running into that favorite song and your mono devices doesn't actually combine channels and just uses one. All of a sudden you can no longer here the vocals to your song. oh how we suffer LOL. Anyway this is a 5 star product if properly advertised.
