Smaller than a 2.8 in real life
Typical Maxxis fit-and-finish is great however it isn't a true 2.8 Tire. More like a 2.6. Even if you measure to the outside of the knobs it seems smaller. It is smaller than my factory 2.8 tires. So I suggest if you want a tire that's around a 2.8 you have to move up to the Maxis Chronicle 3.0

Weak seam
Bought two tires for my MTB. The one I put on the rear had a flat on the second ride. Kept flatting after every ride but I eventually got it to plug up with enough dirt/sealant. Unfortunately after the last ride it went flat again. Just put in 2 oz of Stan’s but now the split at the seam is so long it won’t hold. Bummer is I waited 6 mos before I put it on the bike and then had the winter so no warranty left even though I have only about 4 months of riding in these.

perfect for general trail riding!
perfect for general trail riding! I can siee if you ride fast/ aggressively, maybe get a 2.5 minion, but for the 99% of riders, this tire suits a wide range of conditions with fairly good side lugs and cornering traction. i run a Ikon+ in the back and this has GOBS more traction that that. Not that the Ikon doesnt, but in turns, this tire bites and hold while the Ikon offers a predicable drift. this tire really locks up, never felt it slip, especially at the right pressure. I'm running about 13psi (i'm a small guy). Santa Cruz specs these front and back on their plus bikes. That should tell you something.

Great tire at a great price, shipped out and delivered right on time.
I had thrown on a Maxxis DHR 2.8+ on the bike for a while after the last Rekon went south. I forgot how much livelier the bike rides with the Rekon 120 TPI. Also its rounded profile allows the bike to carve at any angle without a break-over point, unlike the square edged DHR. Super grip, superb handling, really light for a 2.8+ tire. They are really soft when new and tend to cut easily until seasoned.

Good tires
Good tires. I get a lot of Catus in the tires and the hold up good with Stans sealant in them. Had one sidewalk tear so far.

5 ID rims and they are great. Dimensions below Height- trax 28 1/2" Recon- 28 ...
Ok, got these for my 27.5+ conversion because the guy at indy9 said they run small. Just replaced veetire trax fatty mounted on 28.5 ID rims and they are great. Dimensions belowHeight- trax 28 1/2"Recon- 28 1/4Width- trax 2 3/4+ "Recon- 2 5/8"The recon is more like a mtb tire were used to with a strong profile and good side knobs. the trax is rounded like a fat bike tire and less agressive. Recon is smaller, but fits better on my turner sultan 29r. Trax I ran at 18psi but it dosent like fast corners. Recon I run at 20-22 and eats corners. I know wider rims would help but I got these from the factory and won't switch, but I love the set up now, it's stable. I weigh195 with gear.

Toller Reifen
