Pyrex(4) 7201 4-Cup Glass Bowls & (4) 7201-PC Red Plastic Lid Covers Made in the USA

I already had three of these Pyrex bowls with lids from an older set, acquired in the last 10 or 15 years. I wanted more of this size, so I ordered this four pack. The newer Pyrex bowls and lids are all the same size and design as my older ones, but there are some manufacturing differences. The older bowls are made of a glass with a slight bluish or greenish tinge visible at the edge, while the newer ones do not have that faint tinge. The older bowls have a very smoothly rounded edge on the lip, while the newer ones do not. The newer ones have lips that feel like they have slightly raised edges in spots. The older lids always stay flat when heating or washing, but the newer lids are made of a slightly different plastic formula that arrived flat but as soon as they were heated by washing in the dishwasher the lids warped, forming a sunken in shape that they never lose. The older lids also contain the volume size of dish they are intended to fit, but the new lids do not. On the older glass bowls the printing on the bottom is clear and easy to read, while on the newer ones it is chunkier and not as clear and not as easy to read. There are even some slight pouring flaws that obscure some of the printing on some of the new bowls.Basically the new bowls work well enough, though their lids are a little more difficult to tussle with and I would prefer having the size printed clearly on both bowl and lid. I am not sure if the change in glass will matter much over time, but the non-smooth lips on the new bowls do make me question the air-tightness of the seal when using these for storage. The non-smooth lips also require more attention when washing to make sure all food debris is cleaned away.I preferred the old bowls and lids. I will keep these, however, since they are adequate.

These things are perfect when you make a big pot of something like beef stew, and want to later take the left-overs with you for lunch. They are big enough that I'm not looking at candy bars in the middle of the afternoon. I pack this in a separate bag, but will eventually just put in backpack. So far, no leaks. Because it is heavy glass, they do not get squashed or distorted.

They hold, filled to brimming, 28ozs.

These glass bowls are the perfect size to hold food for my dogs. I feed raw and each of these holds two, 8oz patties perfectly. They make raw feeding more convenient as I am able to empty the box into the glass containers and store those in the freezer. Each night I put one into the fridge to thaw overnight and then rinse and wash after breakfast. My only complaint, and I did see it on some of the other reviews but decided to buy anyways, is that one of the lids has already cracked a little along the rim. I've only been using these about a month and I really expected better from the brand. It doesn't really have too much impact because of the way I use them but I am disappointed. I would still buy another set because they really are the perfect size for my usage.

Really like these versatile bowls. We use them for everything from daily eating to leftover storage in the refrigerator. With the lids we even use them to take food to parties. Thanks to these, we have almost completed our transition from plastic storage to glass!

Perfect size. Easy to clean.Feel better about getting away from plastic.Do not heat stuff too long in the microwave with the lid on like my amazing husband did. The lid doesn’t like it.I’ve invested in various sizes.
