FRAM FT1223A Transmission Filter Kit

This fit my 2009 dodge ram perfectly. I thought the gasket was a little thin but it did not leak so i guess it's ok. Couple of tips for the install. Make sure that the old seal on the flat filter is out of the trans body before you install the new one. I installed the seal first then the filter which allowed for a better and tighter fit of the filter. The other filter just screws on like an oil filter. Be sure to oil the round filter on the seal before putting it on with some trans oil on the rubber seal. I used a little thin layer of RTV to help the gasket stick to the pan and prevent it from falling or moving while installing. (Just a thin layer no more). Torque for the bolts is only like 18lbs so don't over due it otherwise the gasket will be pushed out of position. I had thought about changing the pan to one with a drain but maybe next time.This way next time you can drain it before the filter change and not make a mess.Make sure to clean both surfaces of the pan and trans before install with brake cleaner on a towel not sprayed into trans. The filters were the right ones for my 2009 ram 1500 4x4 w/5.7L Hemi.The suction filter does come with a new seal for the trans side in case your original one comes out with the filter.

Worked well and fit my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7l v8 auto transmission. Been on for a month now no issues.
