Rotating the tuner dial approximately 150 degrees ZOOMS the tuner across the ENTIRE band.Functionally, what this means is that trying to find a station (and then zero in on a good signal) is a game of splitting hairs, trying to move the dial as minusculely as possible.I have used the flashlight (to battery depletion) and the hand-crank to recharge, as well as testing the radio functions. I can't speak to the solar capability.Overall, It should suffice for emergency preparedness.And I guess if the megaquake hits, I will have nothing but free time to fiddle with a finnicky radio tuner.

We did not use this a lot, but it fit exactly what we needed (weather reports while out of cell phone range in the mountains). FIVE STARS!After a few months, the radio part (weather channel, AM, and FM) completely stopped working. VERY disappointed and hoping the seller will make it good. If they do, I'll update the rating. ONE STAR.***After communicating with the Seller, they were very responsive and issued a full refund. The product was disappointing, but the customer service was great so I upgraded the rating. THE BEST HAND CRANK RADIO SO FAR! Inexpensive, portable, works great, doesn't require too much winding...love it! It probably doesn't need the antenna.

I am pleased with this purchase. I did not buy it for sound quality, but rather as a back up radio in case of emergencies. Seems to work well.

The first one received was dead on arrival, sent a new one and I had to take the first one to Kohl's to get it returned kind of a pain. Second one works but I ordered a little better one the same time and has better reception and 4000mah batter instead of 1000mha I would go with the better one and forget this model for $20 more.

Wow! This is a awesome emergency product! We are ordering for family and friends for Christmas. Hand crank is surprisingly easy to operate. Radio has clear rich sound. Flash light is very good as well.

Like the multipurpose functionality of this item. Dislike how long it takes to charge.

So compact, a third of the size of my other one. Surprisingly decent sound quality for size and price. Great for not taking up room in a bugout bag.
