I am saving up for a new Mac, but wanted to get a windows based system for some medical related programs that I use (for CPAP and Oximetry data). Since I am saving, I wanted an inexpensive laptop we so I sorted by price low to high. In some ways basic, it has plenty of RAM for most everything I need to do, especially combined with the quad core processing and quality chips.I was pretty surprised by the quality. The ease of set up, installing Office 365, and my specialized programs all went smoothly. I had not even considered it's weight before I purchased it, but was delighted with the 3lb weight. For my day to day purposes the fast 256 GB SSD is more than enough for the life of this laptop. There have been several updates and all has gone smoothly.In conclusion, this is a quality laptop and a great value. Unfortunately I crushed it bending the case and fracturing the screen. I thought I would take a little more time to shop and started with filtering for my preferences, and sure enough there is another, newer Coolby model in the list of laptops that meet all my criteria. So I am buying another one.

I purchased this laptop a couple months ago and have used it for work, leisure, and school.First of all, it is a FANTASTIC laptop. It's lightweight, has a long-lasting battery, and has never once lagged on me. In all honesty, it's probably one of my favorite laptops I've ever owned.Now, I unfortunately, happened to spill water all over the keyboard and ended up killing the screen as a result. (Totally my fault. Not the fault of the PC. Obviously.) Because I had owned this computer for only a few short months, I reached out to Coolby in hopes of either getting a repair or perhaps trading in the laptop for a new one at possibly a discounted rate. But Coolby reached out to me and promised to send me a replacement at no cost despite the fault being my own.I just mailed my broken computer back and am currently waiting for the replacement. I'll update the review as soon as I get it. But seriously, this is such an incredible laptop at such an unbelievable price.Update:I received the new laptop before my broken one had even made it to their warehouse. Seriously can't get over how great customer service has been. If I could give Coolby 6 stars, I would.

For the price point, you can’t beat this. The hardware is the best value for the money. The only issues I face are consequences of getting what you pay for. That being the brand sticker isn’t straight, the speaker quality is passable at best, and the trackpad hasn’t seen much love. But I’d argue that not only is this good enough for the price, it has exceeded my expectations. I’m hoping to see more development of the brand in the future because the device is incredibly fair. It just needs a budget to give it some life.

I was skeptical because of the price and I had never heard of the brand name Coolby. What I got was a laptop worth more than what I paid (IMHO)Everything worked right out of the box. No issues configuring it for my use. I use it for processing photos using Lightroom. It does a good job. It is a little slow (30-60 seconds) to find a sky mask, but I can't complain for the price. I could add some ram to improve that. I do like the keyboard, it is big and has a 10-keypad. It won't last forever but I have had it for over a year and use it every day. No cosmetic damage or other damage so far.8 Gbs ram and 200 Ghz CPU. The video is decent.The battery lasts about half of what my HP Chromebook does, about 3 hours.I have suggested this brand to others.

I knew I was gambling when I bought this, but there were enough good reviews to give it a shot. While it worked, it was great. I bought it as a video player and the playback quality was so much better than the laptop it replaced. It was a definite upgrade to what I had been using.But then the display started to die. When I woke the computer from sleep, the colors would bleed across the screen and everything would be an illegible blur. Closing and opening the lid would bring it back. I figured it would only be a matter of time before it was completely dead, but I'm stressed that it's unusable now. I'm assuming there is a loose connection somewhere, but prior to this issue, it was opened from the moment it was turned on and it was not closed again for more than two months. This is not a stress issue on the connection. It's just bad hardware out of the box that limped along until it finally died.Now three and a half months later, the display is completely broken and useless. I now have a blurry paperweight that does not function. The mouse does not response because it can't find the icons. No amount of restarting or opening/closing the lid is solving the problem. I may be able to hook up a separate monitor, but since this is a slim model, it has very few physical ports for anything so I doubt that will work.Save your money and invest in something more reliable.
