I have 1200 square metres of finely cut lawn which has been mostly brown since late Spring due to the long dry spell - even though it was manually watered.I applied the wetting age by backpack sprayer and adhered to the dosage per square metre.We then had excessive rain about 8/10 days later. The lawn drains well.I am astounded how quickly the lawn is greening up and reaching it's normal quality surface of turf.How to judge the performance of the wetting agent? There is no doubt that the wetting agent must be preventing dehydration as the lawn has previously taken far longer to green up depending on the amount of rainfall.It is difficult to scientifically measure the performance of the product and the above narrative is a valued judgement based on many years of lawncare.I will certainly apply the product next year in Spring and continue throughout the Summer.Suffice to know that a wetting agent is used on the greens at Carnoustie Championship golf course.C Hamilton.
