Night Is The New Day With This Light
I am so thrilled with this light that I bought a second one in case the first one broke... But they are both still going strong. I also bought a bigger battery based on reviews that suggested that the battery that came with the light did not last long. That has not been the case for me either so I most often use the standard battery. The battery that comes with the light has plenty of capacity for me for my dusk to night rides and I only use the larger battery on rare occasions. The light is bright and I feel comfortable cruising at 20+ MPH at night on unlit roads. This light is a fraction of the cost of name brand lights and I bought it thinking I would want to upgrade at some point but I do not feel the need to upgrade at all. The light is smaller than I thought it would be and very lightweight which is great. I am able to attach the battery to handlebar stem and the light to the handlebar very quickly. The mounts are simple but they work well. It is also possible to attach the light to your helmet and keep the battery in the back pocket of your bike jersey if you prefer the light shining in the direction that you face your head. There are some minor issues worth mentioning.1. The light has 3 LED battery indicators but when the first LED goes off, there is not much battery left. Once the first LED turns off, it is not long before the second one turns off and when the third LED turns off so does the light. Scary... So if you are on the high setting it is best to switch to low to conserve power if you are not close to home.2. The fitting from the charger to the light sometime requires a little wiggle for it to make good contact but it does the job and after more than a year the original battery and charger are still going strong.Bottom line: I highly recommend this light.

Perfect helmet light for Fox Proframe MTB helmet
Edit 2022-12-15: Still going strong! After several years of ownership and buying several as gifts, I'm buying more to mount on my E-bike.This light operates fine at 12VDC so is perfect for mounting on an ebike with an aux output like a Specialized Turbo Levo. The Levo has 25W max on it's output, so I measured the draw of this light using a 12VDC 5A power supply:Standby 0.49WLow 3.8WMed 6.9WHigh 11.0W12.44VStandby 39mA (0.04A)Low 0.302AMed 0.558AHigh 0.891AI do it out of habit, but this reveals how important it is to disconnect the battery when not in use.---Original review---Of course this does not output the advertised lumens. But it is compact, bright, and makes a perfect bar or helmet light. The battery could be sealed better since it is not sealed, but I just scooped it up with silicone. The cord is just long enough for me to go from my helmet down my back inside my shirt and into my waist pocket. Although I have not tested the longevity scientifically, I just rode with the light on medium output last night for about 2 hours and it performed fine.

Has some flaws, but it's INEXPENSIVE and very BRIGHT
Pro: The price is unbeatable for a light this BRIGHT. On low, I can see just fine most of the time; on high, it gives me as much visibility as I would expect from high beams in my car. (Obviously, the amount of lumens is not comparable to a car, but a car travels much faster. Hence, I mentioned visibility, not total lumens.)Con: The battery life is okay. On low, it lasts a few hours. On high, however, I cannot even complete my commute before it shuts off. And no, it does not dim as the batter dies, it just goes from fully on to fully off. Very little warning. Now I keep it on low for most of my ride and only switch to high in areas where I need extra light: unlit portions of the trail, areas where I know there are potholes, curves, etc.Con: It drains the battery even when it's off. You need to remember to unhook it from the battery.Major Con: In mounts to the bike via a heavy duty rubber band that wraps around the handlebars. Seriously. That will break eventually and then what? The band is small enough to easily get lost when you remove it from the bike (like every time you lock it up in the rack and don't want the light stolen.Pro: construction feels sturdy. Seems to be waterproof (I've tested it in Seattle rains). I've even dropped it once---though not from a great height---and it is fine. Conclusion: Important reasons (battery, mount) not to recommend this light, but the bottom line is that it is very INEXPENSIVE and very BRIGHT. I can't afford the $80+ lights, I've tried plenty of the <$30 lights that are never bright enough; this light meets me in the middle.

Highlight to a fine light.
If you're looking for a bright light for riding this is the one you need. First of all is the price, this is an excellent price considering all of the bike shops are asking between 60 and 300 dollars. I see no difference in this one and the higher priced ones, unless you just have to have a certain name on your products. Quality is equal or better than some of your name brands. The switch is covered to keep water out, it is also nice and big so it is not hard to use. These have three settings, low, medium, and high. All od thwm are pretty well suited for riding at night but if it is really dark you have the higher power to see better. Except for the time delay this is well worth the little extra time. These are all aluminum with rubber seals to keep it dry. Altogether this is high quality low price but slower than usual shipping. But then they are coming from China so you have to figure some time delay.
