A very good read
I've read other books by Steve Weber and, like the others, this one is of equally high standard. Steve Weber has a relaxed and informative style that I find easy to follow.I'm new to selling on Etsy having joined in October 2013. This book is great for newcomers like me, being very informative, full of good practical advice and easy to follow. A very handy book to have at your side when navigating Etsy.Well recommended.Etsy is still in its infancy in the UK, but hopefully it will grow to give Ebay some real competition to force it from its recently greedy practices.

Steve Weber knows how to put really useful information together
Etsy 101 is not the first book by Steve Weber that I have bought. 'Plug Your Book' was equally as good, full of informative information that can be easily followed and that you can return to again and again. The UK has been slower to catch onto Etsy. I first heard about the Etsy website a year ago and passed the information onto some of my clients - small (craft) businesses, they are now being updated about the book. The 'vintage' and 'book' section were interesting. I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with Steve Weber's work although there is always the exception to the rule. i will be watching out for his next book.

Very impressed!
I am new to selling on Ebay and although some of the advice is common sense some is really good ideas and makes you think before you act. Loads of good bits and a pretty good read for an information book

good basics but poor for improvers
I found this book quite clear in explaining how to set up your etsy shop. interesting to read the interviews to experienced sellers, but it lacks on tips for more effective promotion and SEO. I was looking for an Etsy bible, and this book it's just not it. A little bit disappointing since I think I could have done most of the things alone following the etsy on-line guide. A was hoping for some insight on special topics and couldn't find them.

Everything You Need To Know About Etsy
Etsy has become the world's marketplace for handmade and vintage items. It was started by Rob Kalin, an artist and carpenter, in 2005. Mr. Kalin was looking for a place to sell his work online. He found that eBay was not a good fit for crafters and artisans because they seem to favor big sellers of mass-produced items.Mr. Weber has written a very comprehensive book about how to navigate the Etsy marketplace. The book begins by explaining how to open an account and how to make purchases. The real value of this book is the precise information that is given on how to open and operate an Etsy shop. Mr. Weber explains what kind of items can be sold in an Etsy shop, how to design the shop, how to list items and how to manage sales and shipping. He also goes into detailed information about how to market your shop with social media, SEO and paid advertising.Mr. Weber explains the importance of interacting with the Etsy Community. He describes the Etsy forums, Circles and Teams. He features 14 successful Etsy sellers in this book and shares information about how they got started and how they operate and manage their businesses. The author provides some basic information about copyright, licensing and taxes. The last chapter in the book is "Mind Your Manners and Dos & Don'ts". This section offers advice that will be a great help for buyers and sellers who are new to the site.I read this book because I am in the process of setting up an Etsy Shop. I have sold on eBay for many years but I agree that Etsy is the best place for "crafty" people.I was very impressed with the amount of information that this book offers. It is a very useful primer for selling handmade art and crafts online. I can't think of a single relevant topic that is not covered in this book.I found the information on PayPal online payments very helpful. I have used PayPal for almost as long as I have sold on eBay but I still learned some new information on receiving online payments in this book.Kudos to Steve Weber for the research that he did for this book. This is a must-read resource for anyone who is interested in buying or selling items on Etsy.

solide Grundlage
Eine sehr solide Grundlage, wenn man bei Etsy verkaufen möchte.Die Aufmachung ist nicht besonders aufwendig und eher langweilig, aber der Inhalt ist gut.

Etsy 101
I generally do not add reviews, but I felt compelled to do so for this book. On reading the other reviews, I see a general consensus that it is "comprehensive"- and it really is! It's easy to navigate, with the table of contents and the index at the back for quick reference on certain words. I like the profiles from other Etsy users that give examples of a successful shop.I am new to Etsy and I feel like I can find whatever information I need here, and I think I will be using this book a lot. This book is great!!

Great content, disappointed by Amazon's preview
I'm a 1/3 of the way through the book and there is plenty of good information, tips, and how-to's on selling on Etsy. Unfortunately, I've run into at least 5 typos already. Not actually misspelled words, but wrong words... "and" when it should be "are" or "shopping" when it should be "shipping". This, I think, is ultimately the editor and publisher's responsibility. And really not all that big a deal, as of course, I was able to figure out.I ALWAYS check the "Look Inside" on Amazon's feature. Always. Just as if I'm in a bookstore and buying a book, I'll flip through it before purchasing. I don't own a Kindle or any kind of e-reader. I made the decision to buy this book after looking at its preview. But sadly I was disappointed when I received the book as the photographs were black and white and not clear color ones as I was lead to believe. I realize the retail cost of this book probably prohibited the use of color photos, but perhaps this should be identified somewhere on the book page. All in all though, the content of the book is great, helpful, good reading.

If you want to sell on Etsy, you need this book!
I make jewelry and have sold it in shops in the Metroplex area, but I've wanted to widen my sales opportunities for a long time. I've considered selling on Etsy because I enjoy buying from Etsy, but I felt intimidated by the prospect of learning how to do that. This book gives all the knowledge you'll need to be able to sell on Etsy. I also have a lot of vintage items I intend to sell, and this book gives great guidelines on what can and cannot be sold on Etsy. It's a huge help in taking that big step to selling your products online. I definitely recommend it to any crafters who want to widen their audience or to those who have vintage pieces they want to sell at better-than-garage-sale prices.
