This book has got me hooked :)To complete the projects you will need to gather a few items. This is what i purchased to get me started…From Hobbycraft: some soft & silky WI yarn, a set of size 9 Milward punch needles.From Dunelm: for £2 a packet of natural linen fabric by Trimitz. This is instead of monks cloth - which seems to be quite expensive if you are just starting out!.From Amazon: A 12 inch no-slip hoop (brand: Morgan) it is an American brand that seems to be the best - i am trying this hoop in place of my cheap bamboo one i had lying around.All the projects in this book require you to work on a 12 inch sized hoop- and after some practice at needle punching… anything to make it non-slip will be worth it.There are iron on transfers in the back of this book which you could also trace against a light board if needed.The projects in this start with basic techniques and as you go through the book there are new techniques to learn.The designs would be lovely for a kids nursery!. But also the techniques you build up will put you in good stead to create your own!!!A lovely book that i have enjoyed loads so far.Do not give up if you find punch needling difficult, when you get it working it is quick and addictive!!

A perfect introduction to the craft, this book has some adorable patterns and teaches you all the techniques necessary to get started with needle punch. Would highly recommend Punch Needle Friends to anyone interested in getting started or creating an adorable set of punch needle pieces.

A lovely book.I haven’t tried punch needle embroidery before, but I have now ordered what I need to get started.All the projects look really nice and not too difficult.There is a lot of useful information included, the instructions are very clear and easy to understand.The pictures are great and really helpful.

This book is ideal for both beginners, with clear instructions and for advance punch needlers with both iron on transfers and patterns to enlarge. There is a lovely range of animal gifts to create.

easy detailed book perfect for a beginner punch needler and beautiful design with easy to follow pictures and step by step photographs an written description. I would definitely recommend this and love the designs.
