Not for the faint hearted!I read the previous books where Katie and Rome were side characters and could not wait to read this book, now downloading the sequel!

Everything I needed in a morally grey your mine mafia romance… I can’t even do a proper review I need to finish the duet!!! Im hooked!

It was good, moved steadily was exiting. The smex scenes could have been better. I kept holding on toward the end where it actually lost my focus because it just felt like it slowed down.I wouldn't hold on to read the second because it just didn't hit hard toward the last quarter as the rest of the book had.

This is a new author for me and not my normal sort of book but consider me a convert. I have now read everything this author has done to date and they are all fabulous. Gritty, sassy, sexy. If you like strong women and dominant alaph's this is the book for you. Fell in love with all the characters, can't recommend enough!

I love this author's work, this book was fantastic and full of steamy hot sex and the characters go extremely well together.

I loved this book, make a change to have a woman to be a stronger leader than a man, also loved the bond between rome & katalina (love the name by the way), I hope they do find each other again & have a happy life they both deserve it after the life they have been dealt with.

Must read this book, so intense, so good.

This book really did a number on me. Please if you get triggers by sexual assault , murder, suïcide and grooming then I would suggest not to read this book. Don’t get me wrong, it was an amazing experience to read this, but it is the heaviest book shain rose has written till now.

Really good read love this book

This duet took me a long time to read. It was dark, intense, and sometimes confusing. But I wanted to push through to the end because of the characters. I loved the characters. You first meet Kate and Rome as friends of the main character in the Stonewood Brothers series. You could tell that there was something more between them and I am glad that we get to know the full backstory and their eventual HEA in their own standalone duet. Their story is complex and needed two parts. It is a slow burn and very angsty. There is a HEA, but after much heartbreak and trauma. I had to take breaks and read other lighter works while getting through this duet. It was worth the effort in the end though.

Perfect amount of Sass and realism into the mafia world. Heroine wasn't over the top, she was strong and soft at the same time
