A romance novel inspired by the songs of Taylor Swift! *NOW A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER* This BookTok sensation is perfect for fans of Jenny Han's The Summer I Turned Pretty and Sarah Dessen's Along for the Ride. Meredith's family's annual game of assassin at Martha's Vineyard during a summer wedding is the perfect chance to honor her sister's legacy, and finally join the world again. But when she forms an alliance with a cute groomsman, she's at risk of losing both the game … and her heart. When Meredith Fox lost her sister, Claire, eighteen months ago, she shut everyone out. But this summer she's determined to join the world again. The annual family vacation to Martha's Vineyard seems like the perfect place to reconnect. Her entire extended family is gathering for a big summer wedding, and although Meredith is dateless after being unexpectedly dumped, she's excited to participate in the traditional Fox family game of assassin that will take place during the week of wedding festivities. Claire always loved the game, and Meredith is determined to honor her legacy. But when Meredith forms an assassin alliance with a cute groomsman, she finds herself getting distracted. Meredith tries to focus on the game and win it for her sister, but she can't help falling for him. And as the week progresses, she realizes she's not only at risk of losing the game, but also her heart. "The feel-good summer read of my dreams !"―Alicia, Goodreads Reviewer "Boy, did it also give me all the summer feels ."―Larissa, Goodreads Reviewer "This book is bound to become a favorite of all who love contemporary romance ."―Kelly, Goodreads Reviewer "If beachy contemporary romances are your jam, then trust me― you do NOT want to miss this book ."―Jessica, Goodreads Reviewer Review: This book had my heart ❤ - This was so good! Every summer Fox family's tradition is to meet up at Martha's vineyard (The Farm). But, after losing her sister Claire, Meredith's family couldn't make it to the Farm due to grief. But, this summer they decided it would be different. They decided to continue the tradition once more for Claire and themselves. This is a story of healing of healing after the loss of a loved one, which was one reason I was hesitant to start this book because I wasn't looking for something gloomy or done badly (with this trope) but this book was so much better than I could've imagined. This was fun, sweet, wholesome filled with romance and family moments. The couple were super cute! I loved how we got to know Claire and connected with her before finding out what actually happened to her. I understood Meredith's pain even better because of that. I felt like I grieved and hoped for a better future right alongside her. I loved the ending, wasn't expecting that at all. So, I just loved it. Every character I met, main or secondary has left a long lasting impression because I won't be able to forget about them. A piece of my heart belongs to this book. Definitely recommend reading this. Review: 😘 - Honestly it was a good laid back read

Terrible condition of book but it has T. Swift references😭🙏
If I am to describe the physical condition of the book, then I would say it is straight up, terrible. I had to replace this book twice, and even after the replacement, the exchanged book came with a folded cover, bad spine yellow marks in the book and it looks used. So a BIG 👎 for that. And i I am to describe the book itself, i believe it will have the same taste to it like What Happens After Midnight of course with Taylor Swift references. So 👍for that

Didn’t like it
I didn’t quite enjoy the plot. The assassin game literally bored me. Skipped to end the book. Maybe I am too old for this 🥲

🩷👏🏻
The summer of broken rules by K.L. Walther is a fantastic summer romance read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I love the main characters, and I adore the plot. The way they all play the game of assassins was hilarious and heartwarming. The family vacation setting was also cute. Plus, it deals with grief, which makes it emotional but handled well. The book is full of great energy and some shocking turns. I also love the use of some of my favorite Taylor Swift songs, which made the book even more special. I couldn’t get enough of Meredith and Wit’s story. What a wonderful journey they went on! I couldn’t stop reading this book; it was so good. What a great five-star read!

Read it if you loved The summer I turned pretty
I don’t really read YA books anymore. Maybe because I’m 36 and I can’t relate with the main characters. So I usually avoid them. But I don’t know, I wanted this one to change my mind. I loved the summer vibes. The tradition to come to the same place every year, knowing everybody and making a lot of memories with friends and family are my favorite things in summer romances. There’s a feeling of freedom at eighteen, being in a place you know since childhood and doing what you want when you want, without any parents supervising. I had this beautiful feeling while reading and I think, that was what I liked the most ! Meredith is going through a roug period and the grief was really well described. Coming to a place without the person you loved the most is something hard, especially for someone so young. She was walking trough memory lane and paying a beautiful tribute to her sister. Teenage feelings were really well described and I could remember how it felt to live grief at such a young age. Well done ! Her relation with Wit was cute and I’m glad she found him at this period of her life. I loved how realistic the end was. Not a perfect happy ending but a mature choice.
