Very Well Made Product
We purchased one for each exit door of our home since we almost flooded during the last storm here in Houston. They're heavy, but can be handled by one person, its made very well, and the sleeve (orange cover) is thick like a scuba divers suit but thicker. After receiving the product and placing it as directed, we could tell right away its going to work! It fits nice and tight, and super quick to install. Note, the 4 screws at the bottom, ONLY use your fingers to gentle tighten, better yet, watch the provided video as the directions are very confusing. I gave it a 5 star because of how well it is made, and feel very confident they will work! It gives me a peace of mind knowing that they can be installed in matter of seconds. Hope we never have to use them, but after all my research this was the only thing that I felt would work.

Heavy duty door, water be dammed
My wife and I had a pretty catastrophic basement flooding a few month back. We are currently rebuilding our finished basement and working on additional water mitigation, but contractors are months out from scheduling due to COVID. We don't want another water issue in our basement, so we picked up this flood gate to install at the base of our outside steps to the basement. It is clear from the construction that this thing is a tank. It fits very securely in the door and seems like it will last quite a while. It is a permanent structure outside our door until we can get other water mitigation in place. For now, we feel safe having it in place to avoid any major water damage while we wait. It's a little expensive, but it is very high quality and a price I'd be happy to pay to avoid another 5 figure disaster.

Worked great,
Have had basement flooding from an overflowing walkway that leads to a basement door in a house we moved into recently. I bought this QuickDam FloodGate for extra security as I try to figure out the drainage issues (but there were signs that this was an issue before we moved in). During a heavy rain storm where the walkway overflowed, the water started to flow into the basement, but after tightening the bottom screws a bit more, it worked great. I could open my door, look out, and see a pool in the walkway but nothing was coming through.Installation is simple but the bottom screws for the floor seal are a bit flimsy. It comes with a wrench that works well for the side wall pressure but annoying for the floor seal. there was really no way to know if it was sealed enough until I saw the water come through.Nevertheless, I recommend this product. $100 less than an alternative I saw, and despite some flooding, saved me a lot of clean-up with some adjustments. Great purchase.

Sturdy dam, not hard to manage
I use it in my back door, which is at ground level and gets flooded most summers, costing me quite a lot in restoration. When flooding is forecast, I put the dam in place, but a real flood hasn't come since I got it, so it hasn't been seriously tested. But it gives me considerable reassurance that when a flood comes, it will reduce or maybe even eliminate damage. So I've already benefitted in peace of mind. It fits a range of doorframe widths, and fits mine quite well. It takes 6-10 minutes to install or deinstall. It's pretty heavy, but once it's in place it doesn't take a lot of strength to work the wrench to tighten it.

Wish I had this for our big floods
Water came in through our basement door several times and dang near ruined everything. Upon discovering this product we immediately bought it. Two floods since, we can tell a big difference. The second time we had just replaced the door and only a bit trickled in on the sides where the door frame meets brick. Nothing from under the door crack. Yes, it is expensive but it really works for doors.

DO NOT BUY
Please do not buy these. My family flooded three years ago and bought 4 gates plus the accessories in hopes of finding a solution. The gates are a complete failure. We are in Tampa Bay and our neighborhood recently suffered a lot of flooding from the hurricane. Our particular house had 8” of water over the threshold. The gates kept none of the water out. A sand bag and piece of plastic would have been more useful. I don’t know other solutions but I wouldn’t waste thousands of dollars on something that serves no purpose.

Not perfect and could be less expensive
I have not fully tested it but have used it on close calls where the water at the cellar door approaches the door sill. I would say it is a sturdy device and really locks in place. But for the money, it seems more like a glorified scissor jack to change a tire. Sure wrap a good waterproof cloth around it, make some design changes and it if really works it saves a lot of money. I just did not have time to search for something a bit cheaper.Oh- and if it is raining, the water gets behind the top of the barrier and drips down to the door causing some seeping at the door sill. Not like a flood but still needing to figure that one out.

no more wet basement
Installed this on my back door after a basement flood leading from this door down staircase of my raised bungalow during a spring thaw. Would recommend this to anyone who needs this added protect. Solid, easy to install and is a life saver. Excellent quality and gives me peace of mind.

Good product
Hope to never have to put it to use. I installed to protect our electrical room in case of a flood. Was very easy to install in under 5 minutes. Appears to create a very good seal. Looks clean and neat.
