My side garage door only has a single door handle/latch, and even though I've never had anyone bother it, I feel good knowing that it is now way more secure.These brackets look good and they were simple to install. I used 4 inch lag style screws and all of the screws are fastened into the door framing.It's easy to remove the 2 x 4s whenever I need to use the door, and it's just as easy to put them back into the brackets. It was a lot less work than drilling holes for a deadbolt would have been...and it's probably a lot stronger.
