Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas, The Introductory Course 2019 Workbook

Product contained mostly just dry lists of facts - incomplete ones at that - very little explanatory text, and a few typos to boot. Not actually effective for studying, not particularly good as reference material, either. I know I got one free when I took my intro sommelier exam, but thought this would be good for studying ahead of time. It wasn't. Wine Bible 2nd Ed. is much better.

Just beginning my study into wine. Wanted to purchase a book that could give me an idea of what certifications I might want to seek out. This book has a lot of information and I find it very easy to read and understand. I don’t think Sommelier is what I will go for but this work book can help anyone gain a better understanding in wine. I have already learned a handful of information that I have retained in a short amount of time. The quizzes in the back of every chapter are short but informative and tests your knowledge of the material. I think they could have made the quiz material at least twice as long. 15+ questions instead of 5-7 for example.The one complaint about the book is that it starts in the middle. Day 1 chapter 1 starts dead center of the book. Day 2 starts at the beginning of the book. Weird to me, I think it is to do with an editing issue as they reference maps on pages in the book but the maps are on a different pages then listed.

I am taking the Level1 CMS Sommelier test. This is textbook for the test.Also, just a very comprehensive wine and spirits guide.

Well, it looks like a great book, besides the fact that it starts on page 262 and was actually bound in reverse order (next page is 261, 260, etc.) I don't mean to *wine* but it's a little hard to study for the Sommelier Level 1 when your book is completely out of order.

If you're taking the Introductory course with CMS, this is the workbook you need. Get it!
