I love Creme Brule but my attempt to make it didn't work out. Then I found this. Came with 2 boxes for under $7. Can't beat the price. Comes with the mix and the carmelizing sugar. I invested in a culinary torch so it's just like in a fancy restaurant. You could put it under the broiler if you don't have a torch. You just add heavy cream and half and half and refrigerator an hour, put the sugar on top and voila. Perfect Creme Brule. If I can make it without messing it up anyone can. Will be stocking up on this stuff for the holidays!

Not only does it make great creme brulee, but it is a perfect filling for trifle. I live in a small mountain town and made a dessert bar for a friends wedding. I ran out of eggs and had to improvise English custard at the last minute. I used creme brulee instead. It was so successful, for the community Christmas party I made my gingerbread and cranberry/orange trifle and it stood up like an English custard but creamier. I'll be doing that again this holiday season!

I have tried many creme brulees at home and in restaurants and I can tell you, this is one of the best ! And it is so easy to prepare. I always impress my guests when I make this because they think it is so much work but with this mix, it is not!
