The Knockaround Classics model utilizes a timeless design made famous by open-road style explorers as far back as 1919. Form and function split the bill 50/50: Classics look good on almost everyone and at the same time provide crucial UV400 protection for your eyes. The polarized lenses considerably reduce glare from surfaces like water, the road, and car windows.

$15 Polarized Sunglasses
I've been a dedicated Maui Jim customer for the past 15 years. But recently, I've had horrible luck with the durability of several of their newer frames. In the past I've driven beater cars when circumstances dictated, and last week I found myself in need of beater sunglasses. I ordered a pair of Knockaround Premium Polarized Wayfarers in black with orange lenses.Pros:-Price. Polarized sunglasses for $15 is an attractive proposition. I've been wearing polarized sunglasses for driving and water sports for a long time. While I wanted a more affordable pair of sunglasses, I wasn't about to let the full spectrum of horizontal light waves scorch my retinas. For $15 I get polarized shades that will not ruin my week if they get lost or broken.-Durability. I've worn the Knockarounds during my daily commute and while running errands for the past week. They're polycarbonate frames, and they feel plasticky. These are not carbon fiber works of art. The upshot is that they feel solid, like they could withstand some punishment without completely compromising the frame. They are VERY thin when folded up and I was surprised they shipped in such a small protective soft case. But it seems to get the job done, and the glasses and case can easily be tucked unobtrusively above the visor in my car.-Looks. These are standard Wayfarer style sunglasses. If you like the way you look in Wayfarers, you're going to be pleased with the aesthetics. If you can't pull off Ray Bans, Knockarounds are not going to be a game changer. There are many different frame/lens color combinations (selection seems to vary day to day) and I'm pretty pleased with the orange on black pair I ordered. They're a little louder than the shades I usually wear, but for $15, I can afford to be bold.-Comfort. So far, no pinched nose or chafing above my ears. I will update this review if any discomfort should develop, but I feel I've work them enough at this point, and I'm confident they're a reasonable fit for my face. Your mileage may vary. Cons:-Optics. The lenses are quite a bit darker than my more expensive sunglasses. In bright sunlight, the gradient difference is barely noticeable, and the Knockarounds are strong performers. In flatter light, particularly on a day with fresh snow on the ground and little direct sunlight, the filtration was a little more than desirable, but not enough to take off the shades. Of note, the lens coating on the side closest to the eye is highly reflective. With direct sunlight at my back, I would occasionally catch a glint of reflected sunlight on the peripheral extremes of the lenses. I have a narrow face. If you have a round head, or tend not to drive with the sun at your back, no worries.Verdict:-$15 Polarized Sunglasses. They look decent, block harmful UV rays, keep me from squinting while outdoors, and allow me to save my fragile Maui Jim sunglasses for... I don't know. Special occasions? Simply put, the compromise in optic quality is not nearly enough to detract from what is an otherwise exceptional value.

Dollar-Store Quality
The lenses are good, as far as polarization goes, but the rest of the item is of the quality of sunglasses you'd find at Dollar Tree stores. I'm not exaggerating, and, yes, I've bought sunglasses at Dollar Tree (no shame!). These were only $15, but I usually stick to the cheap sunglasses and often find much better-made sunglasses than these. On top of that, while the polarization is fine, these glasses (green moonshine lenses) are fairly see-through. In even medium light you can see your eyes through them, which kind of ruins the point of mirrored (or reflective) lenses. Additionally, I'm the definition of average build (and so I have an average-sized head) and these sunglasses appear a tad on the small side to me. Not a huge deal there, but taking all these things together means I will not be buying any more sunglasses from Knockaround.

Inexpensive, lightweight, and functional.
I bought a pair of Knockarounds because I wanted inexpensive sunglasses to take on my John Muir Trail thru-hike. I have an unfortunate history of stepping on or otherwise smashing sunglasses while backpacking and hiking, so I avoid expensive brands. I usually just purchase them at Target, but I decided on Knockarounds this time because I wanted polarized lenses. The Knockaround sunglasses may look and feel cheap. They're extremely lightweight plastic. But so far, they've seemed to be pretty durable. I've taken them on some training hikes and roughed them up a bit, but mine haven't broken or shown any wear. The polarization works as advertised (you can tell by holding the lenses perpendicular to other polarized lenses, which then completely blocks out light). The only slight complaint I have is that these sunglasses do not well fit someone with a low nose bridge. I'll be purchasing some adhesive nose pads to rectify that issue though.

The Toyota Camry of Sunglasses
These sunglasses perform as you think a pair of $15 sunglasses would: they block the sun pretty well and are decent looking but lack other positive characteristics. I use them primarily during running and biking as eye protection. The Good: $15, sleek look, light and stay on my face during runsThe Bad: The photo makes them look deceptively nice. The lenses are very red and do not have the hint of orange. The area where the lens contacts the frame looks pretty sloppy, too. The quality is on par with sunglasses at a lower price point. My verdict: I would not buy this model again, but would consider buying a higher quality Knockaround product. You get what you pay for with these.

Excellent Budget Shades
This is my third pair of Knockaround glasses, so I have some thoughts to share:LONGEVITY:While owning my first two pairs, I lived by the ocean. The salty air and water eventually caused rust to form on the hinges. I'm active and enjoy the outdoors, but I don't abuse my stuff, and my previous pairs lasted about 3-4 years before disintegrating from wear and tear.LENS TYPE:Wish the polarized lenses were glass and not plastic, but it's the be expected at this price. Smoke tint is Knockaround's darkest lens color.ORDERING:I suggest ordering from Amazon rather than their website because you get free shipping on Amazon; whereas it's about 5 bucks otherwise.CONCLUSION:They're lightweight and comfortable. I've owned them twice before and am buying again. That says a lot. This is a good price for polarized aviator styled shades. I’ve got no complaints and will probably buy again in the future when these wear out.

Poor quality frame - Very disappointed
Bought this item thinking it would last a long time for the price I paid, unfortunately I was disappointed when I first opened it from it's packaging because the lenses had been scratched and the arm had snapped when i opened the arms to put on my head, would be much happier if I could have a refund or maybe it was just my pair that was faulty, but cannot find where to contact the brand
