Purchased Calissa Vertical Jig 150g (Green/Gold) for offshore snapper fishing. Although snapper season isn't until June, I can say this is a well made vertical jig. Good "fish catching" color. This is the first time I've purchased a Calissa jig. I like Shimano Butterfly jigs but have them get "bit-off" by some big sea critters and I cringe at the $$ that just became fish jewelry. This is much more reasonably priced. I will add another assist circle hook. Looking forward to using in a few months off the Texas coast.

Left the rock cod jigs at home and committed to slow pitch. Alot more fun and catching larger more aggressive fish. After several hook ups the finish is hardly scratched.Almost every time the jig doesn't make it to the bottom as it moves through the strike zone. Fish seem to hit it on the drop.

I may add another sister hook

Ill start off by saying when I got this jig, I thought it looked great and one of the eyes fell off right away (used super glue and baking soda to put it back on). When on the water, I upgraded the snap rings to 250lb snap rings and the hook to a heavy 9/0 size and added about 15’ of monofilament 200lb leader to it for stretch. Ended up hooking into a good sized tuna right away and the jig held up very well. A great addition to my tackle box.

Took this out to 100' wreck off Jacksonville. First drop on 60lb tackle it got lit up by the local big dawg. Couldn't even get the nose turned before it was back in a hole and sliced my braid off on something sharp. I call that a win. Purchasing the multi pack and heading back out with my 100lb deep drops rods for revenge.
