We feeling one with helium and it lasted for a long time without showing any signs of losing air anytime soon when it was accidentally popped because of duct tape getting stuck to it and trying to pull it off. We inflated another one with regular air and it has lasted for several months and taken a lot of abuse.

I purchased these balloons for something else. I didn't realize these were so big. I inflated one to the size of a beachball. My son and I use it in a game we call "stair-ball", which is played on a stairway. We then volley the "ball" back and forth, up and down the stairs. We each take a turn sitting near the top of the stairs while the other is at the landing in front of the stairs. It's a lot of fun and these balloons are a key part of it. Highly recommended!
