LOVE this! The only way it could be more perfect, would be if they made it in a 22"-wide size!
- This is as close to perfect for me as I can imagine is possible! It is STURDY, and stays inflated because the manufacturer brilliantly made use of a simple-yet-super little device, that being a flap over the bottom of the inflation stem which prevents back-flow of air. So retention of inflation does not only depend on the friction between the plug and the stem - there is a mechanical stopgap as well. - Mine was just under $13 with free shipping (Summer of 2017), which might be an introductory price, so don't be fooled into thinking it's just a glorified pool-float type thing - it's a really good item! - If you do over-fill it, just use something gentle ((I used a paper ear-swab stem)) to *carefully* push the flap down, and let some air escape. - The square shape is brilliant, and one has to wonder why it hasn't been done before - or maybe this is the only *affordable* one that's been done? Being square, it spreads-out the support over a larger area of the hips, thighs, and tuckus, so it's much more comfortable and doesn't cause soreness, as can something with a smaller surface area. ALSO, there is enough surface are for the user to shift around a bit and redistribute everything. - The edges are evidently heat-welded, and there is a decently-wide band of it, so that helps prevent leaks. - One side is 'flicked', I think it's called, so it's intended to be more comfortable to sit on than would be they bare surface, but I place a cover over mine ((several layers of mesh covered with a breathable and washable pillow-sham-type thing)) and have a hose running from a fan that goes underneath to aerate the hole area. - It sounds nuts, but one additional ((and unmentioned)) aspect of having to sit most of the time is the possibility of things like heat-rash and/or other skin problems caused by heat and humidity. The hole helps a lot in and of itself, but sometimes one requires a bit of additional aeration, especially following a long period of zero-aeration. Feel free to ask if anyone is interested in my strange-but-functioning setup... - ANYWAY, to continue:The hand-pump is, well, a simple little hand pump, but I think it's a really nice addition. Now, since it seems that ther are always people who seem unaware of certain realities, do note that, if you're looking for some sort of mil-spec nearly-indestructable device suitable for aerospace-industry-tolerance applications, well, do you REALLY think it'd come as a set with a **reasonably priced** tuckus-donut??? Just to be absolutely clear, this ain't that. HOWEVER!, if you're an average user of inflatables, you'll probably find that the small hand-pump is a practical addition, *and* such a thing is always a useful thing to have, especially if the power goes out. And actually, I used this included pump to put more air into my large TheraBand ball, and the pump was able to handle getting it up to a very tight inflation. -- Also note that the tip can come off if you want to attach a tube to lengthen the reach, or for some other reason. Also, though, if you cram the tip too hard into the inflation tube, it might come off if you disengage the pump by pulling on the body without firmly grabbing the base of the tip as well. -

Worked great for an unusual use
I bought this for my wife before our cruise to South America. One excursion on the Falkland Islands involved a ride in a 4-wheel drive vehicle over rough terrain. My wife has a back condition that might have been affected by that excursion. Took this cushion with us and inflated it with the included pump just before entering the vehicle. As advertised, the ride was quite rough but the air cushioning worked well and my wife had no problem and probably enjoyed the ride more than the rest of us. Probably not the usual use for this product but it worked well.

a good cushion, no ifs ands or…butts
good product. durable and daily cleans up, you can carry it without the product shouting "SORE BUTT!"it's my first time "riding the donut" and it takes some getting used to because there's a reaction to every movement.i realize that makes sense in a Newtonian way, i just hadn't thought that through.so--i'm happy with it, less so in needing it. but that's life, and not your problem. if you need one, this one's good.

I bought this to absorb some of the impact my lower back takes on the riding lawn mower. Unfortunately, with this is in the seat, the safety switch thinks no one is in the seat and the mower dies when you hit a bump. It distributes the weight evenly, just not designed for what I wanted it for. It appears very well made.

Hard to Keep a Balance on it
This cushion was hard to balance and stay on. My body wanted to slip and slide, although the seat part is not at all slippery, the flocking on it prevented sliding but the air in it shifted each time I moved a bit. Hard to stay stable on it. It kept its inflation fine and the little tool for inflating was good. I will not be using it.

Seems to be a good product
This cushion worked very well. However, after about a week, it seems to have sprung a leak. In fairness, we have been in and out of altitude and I think that affected the inflation, I.e. Increased it and perhaps put too much pressure on the cushion. That said, I reordered another cushion because it had worked so well. Hopefully by eliminating the altitude changes, the issue will be resolved.

ON my fifth one
I don't think its the fault of the companies but just after the return date passes now 5 times, they break with a small leak from the seam. I wish I could find one that was sturdy. If its temporary you using this then go for it.

Comfortable, but does not deflate easiliy! Beware!
Great idea, but poor execution! I inflated it for my 15-hour trip overseas, but the Donut Cushion wouldn't deflate! It was super comfortable during my flight --- but afterwards, I had to carry it out because it wouldn't deflate so I could put it back into my carry-on bag.
