First off the package, the book felt heavy and found the reason after i opened the book. The book is built solid with good paper and good printing. Easy and comfortable on the eyes. Well documented and well written with lot of photographs to support. Goes on to show how one determined bureaucrat can change the face of the organisation and that of a whole country in front of the world. A book worth reading for all those who want to know how to keep ploughing forward in the face of competition, ridicule, hurdles and stubborn colleagues and higher up, this is in the context of the way the Indian bureacracy used to work and still works in some areas. Also very motivating.

Finally the people and the leader are quite important for any organisation or for the country to embark upon great mission. Leaders make things happen and even lead an average team to perform great tasks. Leadership does matter most. This book is about a leader and organisation performing extraordinarily by the leader . This story is also about a nation building project in transport sector which has realised the dream of rail fans. My dad who was part of the team used to say "Many of us being in the team used to witness the daily impacts he made in the system. A true description of the Leader's prospective of performing extraordinarily task". Criticism and victimizations are quite common in our society and if a leader attaches undue importance to these than projects remain only on drawing board. I can only say it's a wonderful effort to describe the entire process and congratulate the author to make so lively.

Semi-Autobiographical book on his stint on as head of India' largest rolling stock plant. He is polymath with interest from engineering, public policy, administration to art and literature. He narrates extraordinary transformation he brought in ICF with his trademark humor and liberal sprinkling of Shakespeare and great masters of Urdu literature. A must read for immense inspiration that even in most adverse circumstances commitment and fearlessness all one need to succeed. Yes indeed it also has breathtaking story of Train-18 development. His centrality of theme is that we don't lack talent but that bureaucratic system we have chained ourselves . I hope IR leadership reads it and get motivated a bit. Thank you Mr Mani for writing a trailblazing book.

Finally, got my copy. Just opened the package and quite impressed with the paper. The polymath writer makes it an interesting read by wonderfully blending technical details with many of the finest references from the world literature. No one would believe that a completely technical book to be so captivating and a pleasure reading.Most often our success does not only lie in the technological achievements alone. It should be appealing as well. Sudhanshu Mani has those all in finest proportion in his personality and in his works -- that's what you'll discover in this book.

An excellent read from a truly accomplished Indian public servant who sadly never got his due, either from the Indian Railways or from the public at large. It is a testament to Mr Mani's character that no bitterness is evident in these pages.

It is the story of a great achievement by the Author Sri Sudanshu Mani, who fought against all odds to produce the Train 18 coach sets under his leadership. He has not taken all credits to himself, but has been liberal in recognising and praising the contribution of his team members. This also shows his greatness.
