Q: Is this RF transmitter ?

Not sure about RF, but it's genius. After trying a couple of bluetooth adapters that barely worked and had tons of annoying delay when watching TV, this product was plug and play from day one. Optical sound cable gets plugged into the base; my wired headphones get plugged into the mobile piece. It works perfectly every time. Worth the money.

Q: Does the Flex 5000 come with a head set with ear buds? I do not see a head set in the picture for this model.

Good day, and thank you for your question. Having sound from BOTH the TV and the headphones at the same time is actually determined by how the headphones are connected to the audio source, and how the audio source was engineered. Generally speaking there are a couple of ways of creating these connections which are: 1) If a set top box (cable box, DVR, etc) is in use look for audio output jacks on this device and connect the headphones to the set top box to allow for independent operation of TV speakers and headphones. 2) Check the TV manual/set up guide for an option that allows the TV to operate the speakers and audio output jacks independently (ie: fixed output) to allow for independent operation of TV speakers and headphones and connect into the audio output of the TV. Hopefully this helps, and have a good afternoon.

Q: Can others still watch tv while this is in use? There were conflicting answers.

Our Vizio TV audio is wired to my receiver and the headphones to the headphone output of the TV. Set programming for both outputs to be simultaneously on. Now my husband can wear his headphones while I listen to the TV from our speakers.
