Of Angels and Comic Book Artists
Comic book artist and harassed high schooler Morning Glory isn't expecting to get the guy, but somehow she winds up kissing the new kid at school, Gabriel. He's a dreamboat, very kind and caring, but there is something a little odd about him. Maybe it's because he's hiding enormous wings? This is the 8th book in the My Boyfriend is a Monster series, and just like the ones before it, it centers around the cute romance between a normal/average/everyday girl and a creature from myth or legend. In case, the boy is an angel, if you couldn't guess. It's a sweet, fluffy romance accompanied by nice illustrations that are rather anime in style. A quick, fun little read, it will keep you entertained and you can read it all in one sitting. Thank you, Netgalley and Lerner Publishing Group for letting me read the galley.

Just the thing for a little relaxation
Review Copy: Provided by the publisher via NetGalley for an honest reviewGlory and her friends kept me giggling and smiling. This was definitely light-hearted with a bit of quirkiness too. In one scene, readers are even treated to a paper doll type of layout with an attractive young man in his boxers. The illustrations were a lot of fun — especially since Glory’s comics are mixed in and they are a different style than the main storyline. Several startling action scenes are scattered about to keep you alert. I loved it. If you need a laugh or a quick read, this would be the perfect fit.Recommendation: Get it soon. It would be just the thing when you need a bit of relaxation.Review originally posted at Rich in Color [...]

I love this series. I really enjoyed this book.
First off the graphics is absolutely stunning, second it takes place in my favorite place (my hometown) - San Francisco, and third it's an interracial paranormal romance! This book is about; a girl who is an artist and wants to win a comic book competition.. She is different, loves shopping at the local thrift stores, which causes bullies to pick on her. But when the new gorgeous student, Gabriel, enters her class, sparks fly...

The third best in the whole series.
Well, let's say this rank third in my personal list but I haven't read He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not yet.In this book we're dealing with good angels and bad angels. The female protagonist has a weird name, she wants to be a manga-ka and is black. The male protagonist is an angel. Insta-love. Troubles. One thing that I noticed and that is different from all the other volumes in the series is that there are more characters involved. I don't know, I got the feeling that the world in which the protagonists act was better depicted than in most novels of the series. You get a glimpse of the school life, a bit of outside life, and you have a BFF that has troubles at home and needs help. The art was quite good. There are Spanish artists at work here. Good, but the best art in the series belongs to Janina Görrissen. The overlay/screen (sorry, I'm not sure which is the correct word in English for the particular instrument that Japanese manga artists use to draw patterns on their plates) is a bit awkward compared to the Japanese style but it's OK.OK, now on to the last installment in the series. ^__^
