Mariana ZapataLuna and the Lie

Wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
Luna Allen works for Cooper's Collisions and Customs for 9 years. When her boss Mr. Cooper, decides to sell half of his part, the new co-owner Lucas Ripley enters Luna's life. At first he's mean to his co-workers but Luna just wanted to be friends with him. She was such a kind & soft character. Both Luna & Rip had some secrets about their past.Luna had three little sisters while Lucas's family was not mentioned in the book for the first few parts, we get to know more about them along the way.At first Rip is rude, grumpy, angry, mean & strict but eventually Luna rubs off on him lol!“You got your ‘love you’ bracelet on. You’re all right.” I’ve got you. I’m here,” the man holding me said.“You don’t have to bribe me to be your friend! I’ve been waiting for this for years, Rip,”Rip had the best character development and I'm glad that Luna wasn't like one of the typical damsel in distress main characters who could not defend themselves. She was independent, self reliant and despite being kind & friendly, she used to toughen up when it was necessary.“You are the sweetest thing I’ve ever had in my life,”Rip & Luna first start off as friends but somewhere along the way they fall for each other. After being in a failed relationship and few dates, Luna's friends and family decide to set her up with some men on dates and the way Rip always got jealous and scared them away was so funny!“Yeah, I did, Luna. You wanna go out to eat? I’ll take you. You wanna go out and get a Sprite? Tell me. You want to watch a movie? I’ll take you to the movies. If you want to go to beat the piss out of your cousin again, I’ll take you. You want to meet someone to be your best friend and your fpartner? I’m right here, baby girl.”The chemistry and tension between Rip and Luna only grew with time. Rip was sooo perfect and swoon-worthy. The things he said were so sweet and I learner to like him despite being an inconsiderate brute.“You’re too young. You’re too sweet. You’re too good for me. But I’m done standing around trying to suck up all the goodness you make me feel without you even knowing, Luna. You are my girl. Just you. Nobody else ever has or will be.”“You are the goodest, sweetest thing I have ever had in my life, and I don’t want you to go screaming the other way, you understand me? One day I’ll tell you about everything,”“You don’t—you’ve never even had a girlfriend.” “So? Want me to lie and tell you I’ve had a couple dozen? Or you good with knowing it’ll only be you?”The book was full of interesting characters and balanced with the right amount of suspence, romance & tension. You should really give it a try.

Another beautiful romance from the Queen of Slow Burn <3
(I read this as part of the Kindle Unlimited Subscription!)No one does slow burn romances like Mariana Zapata does – and I do mean, no one, EVER! I have read countless of romances that would fall into the category of Slow Burn Romances, but none of them give me the feels like the ones Mariana Zapata’s books can! Luna and The Lie, while it may not be a top favorite of MZ (that prize goes to The Wall of Winnipeg and Me as well as Kulti) – it still had everything I could ever want in a slow burn romance and just because of that, I ended up binge – reading this beauty within 24 hours with intermittent adult responsibilities. Luna is the only woman working in an auto mechanic shop; where she paints for a living. She has a carved a pretty good life for herself and her three younger sisters; her colleagues are pretty much like family and the owner, a surrogate father figure to her. She has been dealt a hard knock in her life; so she understands and appreciates what she has in her life today. Then there is her other boss, Rip, a man she has had a tiny crush on ever since joined the auto mechanic shop she works in – Rip is a man who isn’t too chatty, way more broody than should be legally allowed and is sometimes too hard and condescending towards her – so it’s her belief that the tiny crush, is absolutely under control! (Yeah, right!). There is a whole lot of banter, back and forth between them; with whole lot of enemies / friends /best friends’ romance in the book – and MZ tackles everything with aplomb, better than any other author ever could! There was times when Luna did get on my nerves; but they were few and far in between that it honestly did not chase away the glow of working towards this wonderful HEA!

Dissapointment is an understatement
Had a hard time finishing it. Her recent work is way below par when compared to her earlier works. good thing it was on kindle unlimited otherwise it would have been lost money on a poorly written book.

Great book
A classic Mariana Zapata book with a grumpy main man and sweet main female. There’s drama and angst and lots of sweet moments. This book had me tearing up and my heart aching over Luna. She just wanted to be loved, desperately. It took her a while, but she found Rip and they managed to come together.Slow burns are the best burns. And Mariana Zapata is the queen of slow burn. Fantastic story!

me encanto!!

Just amazing
⭐ 4.75/5🌶️ 0.5/5Another book that is practically 5 stars by Mariana Zapata, another book that has had me hooked from the beginning and another book that even though it is more than 500 pages I read in less than 48 hours.I would like to know what kind of drug Mariana Zapata puts in her books because they are ADDICTIVE, there isn't a book by this woman that I haven't eaten in a matter of a couple of days. There are a lot of people who say that this book has not been their favourite, I understand that, the personality of both main characters has not been 100% to my liking (only at the beginning). Luna at the beginning seemed to me a character too weak and too easy to manipulate, I mean girl they are taking advantage of you, realize for god sake.Lucas was too insufferable at the beginning but you end up liking him so much that he has become one of the male characters of Mariana Zapata that I have liked the most.I don't know, I seem to like grumpy and insufferable guys too much. But don't let my opinion of the characters fool you (after all, this opinion didn't last long) I ended up falling in love with both of them and their stories. And of course, I have nothing bad to say about the evolution of their relationship because it's a 10/10, chef kiss.In short, if you like Mariana Zapata I doubt you won't like this book because it's in my top 5 of her best books.

Coup de coeur absolu
Je ne sais pas par où commencer. Quel livre. Quel bonheur. Tout est parfait. J’aimerais juste tellement que l’épilogue fasse 100 pages 😜. Mais quel slow burn passionant. Profond. Magnifique. Superbe.Ce livre est une prouesse. J’ai adoré!!!!!!
