Great Classic and Turbo in one! As good if not better than the original!
These is probably the best off market brand pedal I’ve ever used. On my board outside my tuner, every pedal is $180-$400 Botique stuff. This pedal works as well if not better and hangs with the best!As far as any noise complaints…that’s from cranking the distortion and not playing. If you crank it on classic at full and just don’t play…yeah you’ll hear some noise. The original does this and just about every distortion pedal. At medium to low gain it’s pretty quiet. Only time you really need a gate would be if you leave it on ALL the time and full gain for Metal. But if using it at Full gain to kick in for choruses it’s fine. The low gain is great as well! Sounds like a nice Indie rock low gain like the 1981 DRV or something with a bit more bottom mids. This pedal sounds like instant Nirvana, Radiohead, Foo Fighters. Low gain you get those Arctic Monkeys type sounds, especially when drenched in reverb!I could see buying a second just to have one dedicated to low gain, and another for grunge like heavier gain! For the price of a OG, Turbo being $79 and $139 each…this is a no brainer. Sounds just as good if not better! Only reason to go with the RAT 2, is if you know you already want it and want the metal casing for gigging. If you’re not sure about a RAT or don’t want to spend a lot of money grab this now! Against my other expensive distortions, this gets used by itself more often than not! I do wish for a RAT with say 3 taps to cycle through low, medium and high. That would be worth extra money! But a JHS for $230 when you’ll prob just use classic and Turbo anyway. You can’t beat this for the cost! Also it does not suck tone…so no worries of having it in the chain with a bunch of other pedals. It’s surprisingly good quality build for a small pedal!

Rat
I thought this sound better than the current gen rat (I a/b'd them side by side). Not that the actual rat doesn't sound good, I just found this one sounded a bit smoother and more usable. And the size is more my speed. The og rat is super heavy and bulletproof, great for gigging I imagine, but I prefer this slimmer size for home.

Big RAT Energy
As close to a real proco rat as you can get. Massive sounds and a tiny but strong build makes this a perfect pedal for anybody looking for that classic RAT sound

THIS is it. Buy it now!
As someone who owns several varations on the Proco Rat, I bought this on a whim since the price was attractive and the reviews were good. I don't necessarily need another pedal like it in my rotation but I had to see what the fuss was about...And I'm glad I did!Holy smokes, this is the real deal. I A/B'd it alongside my own Rats and it easily keeps up and more. Not to mention, it's the smallest of the bunch. That said, I actually don't prefer these smaller pedal box sizes for stepping on, but I gotta admit when something just works. And this clearly works. So don't let the lack of name recognition or the budget friendly price fool you, this is an amazing pedal and a steal at this price. I'm tempted to buy a few just to keep on second grab-n-go pedalboard. It's that good!Plus, it looks pretty sweet.

Exactly what I needed.
Not much for reviews but needed to leave one on this. I got this to replace a mint Lm308-chip Rat that just wasn’t reliant on my board anymore. This thing is really, really good and absolutely unbeatable at the price point. It does what it’s supposed to do, it’s tiny, and seems built to last. Very satisfied.

Surprisingly good clone
So for the money, you'd be honestly silly not to try this out if you're into RAT circuits. I have an OG turbo and it sounds IDENTICAL on the turbo setting. What more could you ask for? Only downside is the small knobs but that's not something you can fault the designer for: it's a mini pedal. For a few extra bucks you can just order some knobs and toss them on the tone and volume pots and you've got a surprisingly authentic, "road worthy" or whatever RAT pedal. Also it's technically not true bypass because of the switching, but that's realistically what you're going to get with any of these mini pedals in this range. Not really a tone-suck issue like with some boss pedals though, so don't let other reviews lead you astray!

Not true bypass
This pedal sounds pretty similar to a Rat. It’s a little smaller, and offers a switch to choose different distortion modes. However, the real Rat is only slightly more expensive. This pedal is also not true bypass. I found this out because it wouldn’t pass the signal through without power, even when in the off position. Finally, it obviously doesn’t accept batteries in this smaller form factor. All in all, a decent clone, but I ended up buying the original Rat anyway.

It’s two rats for the price of one!
My only negative in regard to this pedal is the rubber on the bottom doesn’t allow for Velcro to attach - a minor nitpick when the rest of the pedal is a pretty faithful recreation of the two main Rat distortion types - I compared it against a few different rats and couldn’t hear much of a difference!

Gilmour Rat Good Price
I saw this pedal in Mustafa Can Kaya's YouTube channel. He was getting great tones for Gilmour sounds and I decided to give it a shot. Wonderful and right on spot tone with my Strat. Keep it in Vintage setting if you are aiming for the same.

Good little pedal
Brilliant little pedal. Very versatile with the vintage and turbo switch. Can get a lot out of it with my Jazzmaster. Now i can get a very similar sound to the songs i’m learning. Highly recommend.

I Think I Smell a Rat...
This is a great little distortion box. I don’t know if I’ve ever tried a better pedal for the money. It’s not just “good enough” it’s great. I have played many of the originals and even owned an expensive, respected, well known boutique 🐀 clone in the past that and this one keeps up no problem. It’s also a great pedal for low gain. The filter knob is the key. I’ll probably never used the Turbo mode, but it’s cool they’ve included it. I changed the distortion knob on mine and added a Mooer Candy Button to the footswitch before taking the photo. Yet another Mooer pedal that doesn’t disappoint.

It's a Rat
Great pedal for the money. It's a Rat clone, and it does the job really well. Have only used this on my bass - prefer it to other bass overdrive/distortion pedals at twice the price. It loses some bottom end, so works best blended with a clean signal. Well-constructed and problem free so far.
