I'm new to the crystal world. To be brutally honest, I think there is major spiritual disillusionment surrounding crystals that causes people to really lose their way in life. But I also suspect there are very real physical benefits to these stones-- essentially a kind of mineral therapy. So I'm testing them to collect my own evidence of whether these things can help in practical ways or not. I got this one for my hubby. He chose it out. I know the stones don't "choose us"-- that's ridiculous. But bodies are smart and they will gravitate towards specific qualities, such as colours, that they have learned to associate with specific benefits. It happens with food all the time-- you "randomly" crave a certain food, and surprise, it's just what your body needed. It's not magic or mystical, it's intelligent design. Works with rocks, too-- you'll instinctively go towards what you need (typically the draw is just based on a colour, especially when you've never heard of the rock that's fascinating you). Hubby is having major liver/ gallbladder issues which I'm helping him with. One symptom is a persistent burning where his (inflamed) liver is. When he put this rock on, the burning stopped. He was amazed. We're both trying to be very pessimistic to resist the placebo effect. The other night I had a headache. Put amethyst against my head, and the throbbing eased very quickly. Hubby tried amethyst over his liver, and the burning stopped. I think he liked the effect of this new stone even more. I share these details to demonstrate that yes, the stone is authentic, and that crystals do work. This particular stone is recommended for digestive issues. The cord is great and looks good on either gender.To be clear: when testing this rock, I did not do any of the cleansing or charging rituals. I don't talk to my rocks or lick or sniff them, as is advised by crystal lovers. I don't try to establish personal relationships with them and I certainly don't seek life advice from them. I treat crystals as I would an herbal poultice: put it over the troubled area and give it time to work. It's mineral therapy, plain and simple. God's a genius. So if you're looking for a new kind of non-invasive medicine, try crystals. Can't hurt, might help.
