W. L. Fuller 11681000. 1 Inch Plug Cutter

great plug cutter
I needed to make 1 inch plugs for a woodworking project and took a chance on this cutter. I could not be happier. Based upon my initial use i would recommend only using a good drill press at the right speed. This cutter is a beast. I've cut numerous plugs before using up to 1/2 inch cutters. Those are straight forward. As i said, in my opinion this cutter should be used in a drill press. Typically, i use a flat blade screwdriver to release a cut plug from the source wood. With this large cutter i sliced the plugs free from the wood on the bandsaw. I initially tried the screwdriver method and couldn't budge the plug free. The bandsaw made the release effortless. I'm glad to have added this plug cutter to my collection.

solid and re-sharpable
These guys make a solid little plug cutter. Way better than tube style w' eject port that is most common. Easy to put an edge on the cutter w' a file too, if your cranking through a lot of stock. I do wish the throat was deeper, I have to plane my stock down if it's over 3/4, not that I need 1" plugs, but the situation has come up....
