German for Everyone Junior: 5 Words a Day (DK 5-Words a Day)

I bought this book to help my family members learn German. We love the way it's laid out, with little bites of knowledge each day. It also has audio files you can download to help with pronunciation if you are studying on your own.Great for group, teaching, or self-study.Yes, it's intended for kids, but it works perfectly fine for adults too!We haven't gotten very far in the book. I'll update this if I see typos.

Very good idea to learn German together with school kids. 5 words a day is easy to manage. Content fits day to day use. Very practical

The book is useful for kids

This book is very well constructed and the illustrations are great, which is a pleasant surprise for a book this price. Tons of vocabulary. A website link is available to hear pronunciation, however, it sounds muffled. There are no English translations in this book, although at the back in English there are words one can look up which can be found on a corresponding page number. About one year's worth of lessons are contained in this book which is great, but I strongly recommend that someone with at least A1 level German knowledge be available to assist the student for the book to be of greatest value. A set of flash cards corresponding to this book is also available separately.

Each day students learn 5 new words from a box with illustrations. Practice consists of covering up the words and writing them on an adjacent line. The vocabulary is useful although skews towards words useful to kids in a traditional classroom. I would have liked to see greater variety in the review exercises. The link for audio pronunciations was very helpful. The breakdown of the information into manageable and clear portions increased the likelihood that we got to it each day and made up for other limitations in the book.

the book looks easy enough HOWEVER if you can not access the app [code requred] how do you know your saying the wordsproperly? I tried for over a week to use this book with the app sent email to company NOTHING.returning

The workbook is a good compliment, so it should be used in conjunction with other workbooks which assist with its vocabulary usage in sentences and grammar.

this book is so good, i bought this for my 11 yr old and 5 yr old and it is perfect! i love how it has the app that goes with it so. you can listen to all the words!

El libro es perfecto para ayudar a los niños a aprender mucho vocabulario en poco tiempo, a ritmo de 5 palabras al día (de lunes a jueves) y repaso el viernes. Todo complementado con la app móvil o página web para escuchar los audios de cada lección.La selección de vocabulario está muy bien estudiada, para alcanzar las 1.000 palabras de vocabulario básico del nivel A1 y A2 en un plazo de 52 semanas. Obviamente, siempre es posible hacerlo de forma intensiva en menos tiempo.El orden en el que se presentan también está muy bien, porque va intercalando unas más fáciles de aprender (por afinidad léxica con el inglés o con lenguas románicas) con otras palabras más complicadas (que no guardan afinidad léxica con el inglés o lenguas latinas), con lo cual es fácil mantener la motivación para seguir aprendiendo.

this is a great one for kids from 6+ I am really excited to use it with our daughter. It is very detailed.

Perfect for the kids having German as a second language. Works good with app.
