GlobalGUS-22 UKON Utility Knife with 15cm Serrated Blade, CROMOVA 18 Stainless Steel, Silver

Holy cow, what can I say? This serrated Gus-22 is an INCREDIBLE knife!!! Honestly, I wouldn't be without it now. It sits so comfortably in my hand. You barely need any downward pressure or sawing motion to cut through tomatoes, carve chicken etc., so it's perfect for those people that have problems with strength in their hands. It truly is a joy to cut with. I thought my old Analon knife was doing a decent job until I used this knife. I have slowly been whittling my knife collection down to just a select few Global knives. When I first left home, I was a poor student who didn't have much money to start a new kitchen filled with top quality products. I fell into the trap of buying the big wooden knife block that came with way too many knives for around £30. And over the years I have been slowly recycling those terrible knives and saving money so I can invest in some incredibly good knives. Obviously, I didn't buy all my Global knives in one go....I'm not that flush, teehee....I saved up for them like a good little girl, lol. I feel that if I have a great chef's knife, paring knife, serrated knife and bread knife, there isn't really much more that I would need in my knife block. Speaking of knife blocks....the old wooden one was donated to a very grateful wee brother and I invested in a proper Global knife block too. This serrated knife is unlike any other serrated knife I've tried. It cuts so smoothly without tearing at the item your cutting, be it meat or soft fleshed fruits like tomatoes, peaches etc. I'm astounded by how incredibly sharp it is. I had to keep back one of our old blunt knives for my Hubby.....these extra sharp Global knives intimidate him a bit and given that he can be a bit clumsy, he doesn't feel brave enough to use them yet even though I tell him that using a blunt knife can be even more dangerous than a sharp one. So, although I have recycled/donated the majority of our old knives....I have kept one of the old ones for him until he feels confident enough to use the new ones, teehee. But I am truly blown away at the quality of the Global knives. I love the new Ukon design on the handle. The knife is light but perfectly weighted and balanced in my hand. I am so chuffed with it. And because I bought it from a seller on Amazon, I managed to get the knife for a considerably lower price than on Global's official website. Maybe I was lucky as I bought mine after Christmas, so they probably had a sale on. But even had I not been able to get it at the lower price I did, I still would have purchased this knife regardless. It's amazing and I'm delighted to have it in my (smaller) collection of knives. I highly recommend this knife and brand.
