Good, but not exactly what I was expecting
Having received this set of straps, I have some mixed opinions. On the one hand, I think it's a fine product, but on the other, it's not entirely what I wanted. So: what is it, exactly? There are two straps, and each one consists of two sides which "click" together using a plastic buckle mechanism. Each side of the strap has a loop sewn into the end; to "install" it you simply wrap the loop end around the bar on your rack, and pass the strap through the little loop. This provides a secure attachment which requires no hooks or tools, so unlike bungees the straps will not detach when tension is lost.So far, so good. But here's the thing - only one "side" of the strap is composed of the "stretch" bungee type material. The other side is composed of a non-stretching nylon strand which can be tightened using a plastic cinch type mechanism (think e.g. an adjustable chin strap on a helmet). What's wrong with this? Well mainly, since it cannot stretch much, this results in a long-ish cord to facilitate larger expansion, and that leaves you with excess cord dangling when you tighten the strap up for small loads. There is a loop at the end of the strap, so you can run the strap ends through buckles to keep them from flapping about quite as much. But if you intend to leave these on your rack, the amount of loose strap becomes unwieldy, and you can forget about simply slipping a small object under the strap as you might with a bungee.I've worked around this by running the long strap across the rack and back, which effectively shortens the overall length of the strap when not in use. This brings the excess strap down to a workable length. But it does mean I have to "unwrap" the straps to deploy them for larger items. The primary benefit of this system is that you do have a great deal of flexibility in carrying oversized items, since the strap can adjust to such a large size. Personally I'm more inclined to be carrying small things, so unfortunately this utility is a bit wasted on me. I was rather envisioning stretchy cords I could just leave attached and slip my cargo underneath, but this is not really the intended functionality of this product.I will state that the straps seem to be quite effective when in use. You can cinch the adjustable strap down tightly, and the "stretch" side will give slightly but still maintain pressure, which means you have both the flexibility of a cinch strap and the security of an elastic strap. The straps are quite visible, with an eye catching green color. They are described as "reflective" but I'm not sure I agree - they're highly visible, but lack the reflective qualities of e.g. reflective tape, reflective sidewalls on tires, or standard bike reflectors.Bottom line: they're pretty good, but make sure this type of attachment mechanism is what you really need before you buy. If you're looking to carry large objects on your rack, these might be ideal, but if you're trying to slip something small on the rack you might want to just stick to bungees.

The picture in the add was misleading
The picture in the listing clearly showed the Rok straps as up to 60" and black .. the description indicated green but no length... the color was not a problem either would have worked ... I ordered the product on their good reputation and for the length to 60" .. I received the green ones and removed them from the packaging to check them out ..but soon realized I was shipped the shorter ones that only stretch to 28"!... the price was good for either length... I will keep the shorter Rok straps as I am sure I will find an application for them as they are a unique product... it was unfortunate for me that your listing was misleading.... therefore I gave you 4 stars

I love these. I initially bought one pair and recently bought two more pairs so I can have a set on each of my three bikes with a rack, instead of moving the one set from bike to bike. They are very convenient for fitting irregular loads and strapping stuff down that won't fit in your panniers/when you don't have your panniers. I leave these on my rack all the time just in case I need them. The straps are quite long so when you don't have anything strapped in or when it's something small you have to tie up the excess, but I would rather deal with that than have a strap that's too short (try carrying a pizza box on a bike rack with normal bungees...). I have not had any issues with durability, and one of my sets has been in use for over a year. The high viz colors are nice, as long as you're into that sort of thing (which I certainly am).

Dang these are great!
Amazon wanted me to rate their " Sheerness" - I dwelled upon that request a split second and decided it was a bot question and move on. They're thick black & green & do the job! I wish I had these 25 years ago instead of the cloths line I did have to tie the camping gear on the scooter. If'n you don't have a pair get these. Heck - get the next size longer if you over-pack like I do!

as I do like the concept quite a bit
I bought these to use to attach a roll bag to my seat - minimal attachment points means I have a hard time even getting these to reach all the way across my seat, much less over a roll bag on my seat. They are strong, and they are non-marring, so, I am sure I will find other uses for them, but, definitely NOT suitable for the big back seat on my motorcycle. I'm ordering some larger ones for that purpose, as I do like the concept quite a bit!

Perfect for bicycle touring
Regular bungees were always a pain to use while bike touring. These straps are much easier to use due to the way they are attached to the rack and because of the snap buckle. The small length of stretch cord works just right for quick loading, and when you unload, you don't have loose straps you then have to do something with to not lose them.my wife and I really like these.

These are fine, they seem reasonably durable and the buckle is definitely more secure than bungee cords. But the strap tends to loosen as I ride my bike. I think the cinch part of the buckle needs some teeth or something to hold it in place. Again, not bad, but could definitely be better.

I like these straps
I like these straps, the buckles to release the straps are great, a little short for securing a milk crate to the back of my scooter, and I crushed one of the buckles under the seat release (my fault), but they are small and fit securely, I recommend them highly.
