Beautiful Hardcover Books – and the read is amazing
The quality of the books is amazing, and I'm so glad I ordered them for my collection! As for the content... Spoiler-free review:I had never read the Shadow & Bone trilogy beforehand, and I wasn't too interested. But, the Six of Crows Duology is famous (even more famous) than the original Grishaverse trilogy, so my interest was piqued. Goodreads, Google, Instagram, Book Tok, etc – they all raved about SoC.What I loved the most is that1) you don't need to have read the previous books2) there is an array of main characters each with their own past weighing them down, each with their own ambitions, and each that you begin to love3) the world building (if you aren't familiar with the Grishaverse) is so amazingly done; the streets of Ketterdam, the Ice Court itself... it is fabulousThe only thing I personally struggled with at the very beginning was the change of POVs. There are a lot of names thrown out, but once you make it pas maybe the first 3 chapters, it becomes easier!
