Q: Do they work for wasps?

I wouldn't recommend them out of 20 all of them were defective and broke in one way or another horrible quality control and when unraveling the ones I did get to work were decent for Flys but bigger insects like moths seemed able to land and take off

Q: will this work on green flies? and is this safe to hang near bird feeders? (scared that little fledglings might fly into it and get feathers stuck.)

Yes! I must have caught (100's) of flies near my garbage can, with 3-4 Fly Strips. I even caught a semi-large mosquito! : )
