Probably the Benchmark of Grill Brands
Bought this to replace another one that wore out (failed temperature switch among other things)This is a bigger model so can spread the meat etc wider apartGood even heating, and warms up very fast. The lid mechanism allows for various thicknesses and the fat drain works wellThe best thing about this one (according to my wife!) is that the trays come out so making it much easier to cleanShe would definitely buy again!

Very disappointing. Arrived broken and grill doesn't heat up very well.
Arrived with bits broken as not packaged very well. The grill was also very disappointing after all the hpe and it didn't get hot enough to cook the meat evenly or well. If press down the lid during cooking the meat juices escape and tastes like carboard. Tried cooking salmon, steak and chicken, all ended up dry and tasteless. Actually threw it away I was so disappointed. Cannot recommend.

Great unit - so easy to clean, and cooks food better!
Just a quick review... Two important aspects I've noticed in comparison to my old, more standard Foreman grill this unit replaced.First the removable plates make such a difference to cleaning, which I always dreaded with the older unit (and really struggled to get it truly clean). Being able to remove the plates and wash them properly makes cleaning so much easier and more effective, especially for the top plate which (I guess because of gravity means the oil/fat goes to the lower plate) always ended up with burned on food which was hard to remove without soaking.Secondly, as others have commented, the plates don't get as hot as a standard Foreman, I'm guessing because the removable plates introduce a small gap between heating element and plate. I originally worried about this and swithered before buying. However, while this means that heat up and cooking take longer, I actually think this is an advantage. Essentially the food cooks better - less barbeque (ie burned on outside, raw on inside) and actually better cooked all the way through. Also if you accidentally leave the food on longer than you intended it doesn't burn as quickly as would happen with the old unit.So I'm very pleased with the purchase - the easy cleaning and more thorough (albeit slower) cooking are great! Only reason not to give five stars are the weird fold down leg to angle the unit (looks flimsy, can't see it lasting), rather pointless/useless power cord storage (doesn't really work) and it's significantly bulkier than the old unit for roughly the same cooking surface size. Still would highly recommend though!

The removable plates make cleaning effortless.
I brought this to replace my (very) old George Foreman grill that I'd had about ten years and was still going strong but looking much the worse for wear. The reason I chose this as a replacement was mainly because I liked the idea of removable grill plates, after spending ages cleaning the plates following every use on my old grill, having the ability to detach the plates and pop them in the dishwasher along with the drip try was and is a luxury I will never grow tired of...As for its ability to cook food, I can't fault it. Having said that because of the fact the plates are detachable the distribution of heat is not as uniform as it was on my old grill and tends to get warmer in the centre and a few degrees cooler at the edges but that can be compensated for by moving the food around during grilling.
