Best scooper I've ever used!
I've been scooping cat litter for 20 years, so believe me when I tell you I've tried every kind of pooper scooper out there. Plastic doesn't hold up for the long haul, and the other metal scoops I've used snap where the scoop meets the handle. After the last scooper I had snapped, I went on the hunt and ran across this little gem. If there is such a thing as the "holy grail" of pooper scoopers, this is it!! I love this thing! The scooper part is big and deep, so I don't have to scoop so many times to get the whole litter box done. It catches not just the clumps, but the little pieces that need to come of the litter box as well. The handle helps my grip stay solidly on the handle, and the whole thing is as sturdy as they come.Note to anyone who has used a scoop before: this one is likely heavier than what you're used to. If you find it awkward at first, keep adjusting your grip until you find a comfortable position. It's worth it.I don't expect to ever have to replace this scooper because it broke, but if I do, I'll come back here and let you know. Unless that happens, I cannot recommend this highly enough! It is, by far, the best litter scooper I've ever used.I hope you found this helpful. If you have any questions, let me know and I'll try to answer them for you. Wishing you a blessed day!

Not Your Wimpy Litter Scoop
Ok I've only used this thing once, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! The slats are nicely spaced especially for some of the more fine litters, which I use. They're wide enough you don't have to do a lot of shaking to get the litter to sift through, but small enough that the smaller particles don't. If you use a pellet type litter this probably is not going to work for you. The shovel has a nice curve to it and it's really big. Not sure why some of the reviews are stating that this scoop is really heavy. I thought it was pretty lightweight for a metal scoop. Yes, it's heavier than your typical wimpy plastic scoop, but not to the point you can't lift it. For a comparison, a ceramic coffee mug is heavier. I would agree that if you have arthritis in your hands or wrists the design of this scoop will probably be uncomfortable to use because of the curvature of the shovel. You will use your wrist to scoop. As far as the Teflon, I'm pretty sure it's there to keep the metal from corroding not to be a non-stick surface.

It also features a nice hand grip
This thing is HUGE! I was pleasantly surprised at the size when it arrived. It's pictured here next to a Women's size 9.5 shoe. It's solid metal with a Teflon coating on the actual scoop. It also features a nice hand grip. The sheer size of it makes light and quick work of a not so fun task. My only complaints are A) the metal and the size inherently make it pretty heavy. If you have arthritis in your hands or are elderly, you may want to stick with a plastic scoop. B) despite the Teflon coating, wet litter did stick to the scoop and I had to wipe it off after use. I might try to use a little non stick cooking spray on the scoop next time. All in all though, I think this scoop was definitely worth the purchase, as I'm sure it will last for a long time.

Solid, heavy duty scoop with a comfortable handle. No more cheap plastic scoops breaking during use.
Since my last cat litter scoop broke in just under 2 weeks of use, I had to write a review of how great this cat litter scoop is. I am so happy to finally be rid of the cheap and flimsy plastic scoops that not only crack under normal use, but also tend to fling litter as they flex if you are scraping the bottom of your litter box. The handle is comfortable to hold and the scoop itself easily picked up even the largest clumps with ease. The only thing I have found when using is that after I get my scoop I have to hold the scoop at an angle so that the scoop is almost pointing down so the litter easily flows through the slots. If I keep the scoop at a parallel position when I have a clump in there, the excess litter doesn't easily flow back through the middle set of slots on the scoop as there is more solid space in that section. But for me I am still rating this 5 stars since I just have to angle it down a bit after scooping so I'm not throwing away the unclumped litter along with the waste. There are 3 of us in our family as well as 3 cats. We have all had a chance to use this new scoop and have all commented how this is the BEST litter scoop we have used. I know I could have purchased a cheaper scoop but for an already unpleasant task this scoop makes the job easier to do without worry of the scoop snapping on you like the cheapy plastic ones. I would gladly order again if needed but this is going to last a long time.

Excellent Cat Poop Thieving Tool With a Few Minor Flaws
I got really fed up with plastic scoops constantly breaking on me. I have a heard of cats and too many litter pans and I've gone through more plastic scoops than I care to admit. I figured that surely some one has to have made a more durable scoop, but I wasn't finding them at my local pet supply stores. So I finally did what I should have done to begin with and checked Amazon!Alas, I did not know that so many metal scoops existed. I honestly picked this one since it seemed the more economical of the ones to first come up on my search. Nevertheless, I am mostly happy with my choice. Most importantly, this scoop does get the job done as well as I would hope. It scrapes off the cemented urine clumps with ease. It didn't fling litter everywhere. It looks to be very well made and should hopefully last for years to come.My only complaints about it are:- I'm not sure that the teflon coating actually does anything, it still ends up with litter residue sticking to it like the plastic scoops I used to use.- I was expecting it to be heavier than a plastic scoop, but it's still heavier than I expected it to be.- I really wish the handle was just a little bit longer. Yes, I do realize a longer handle would make it even heavier.Bottom line, I would recommend this scoop. I would never buy a plastic scoop again.
