EF Enhanced Alkaline Water Filter Pitcher Reduces Chlorine Increases pH

I absolutely love this filter. Had another design for a few years, and decided to switch it up. However, The the small screen on the lid that shows when to change the filter is not working. We pressed the button repeatedly and it has still not displayed anything.

The filter that came with the pitcher was cracked open. The pitcher doesn’t hold that much water but the pitcher does it’s job

The Naples Naturals EF Enhanced Alkaline Water Filter Pitcher arrived and we have been using it for drinking water and tea. The pitcher is easy to set up and use. Soak the filter for fifteen minutes in cold water, place it in the pitcher, fill the pitcher with cold water, and then wait for the filter to do its work. Discard the first three pitchers of filtered water. That’s it. My wife is fussy about the taste of water she drinks and uses for her tea. I asked her to taste test the filtered water, which she did and said, “Tastes good.” I agree. The filtered water has a crisp, clean taste.All well and good, but does it make any difference drinking alkaline water from this pitcher? My research on the Internet says, NO. Alkaline water has not been proven to provide us with any health benefits. “Research suggests that alkaline water is unlikely to significantly change blood pH. Some studies suggest that alkaline water might help slow bone loss, but it's not clear if the benefit is maintained over the long term. Some say that alkaline water can help prevent disease, such as cancer and heart disease. For most people, plain water is better.” Alkaline water does not appear to be harmful, and in the case of the Naples Naturals filtered water, it does taste crisp and clean. Readers may wish to experiment with this alkaline water themselves and decide if it has health benefits for them. Research is not encouraging. Three stars for good taste!
