I am a beginner, can a professional tell me whether gray cloth or white cloth with yellow lines is more suitable for tufting?

This is a superior fabric for use with tufting guns.I prefer the gray cloth, which is thinner and less stretchy than the white cloth. For beginners, it is less difficult to keep the cloth taut. This is perfect for both beginners and long term tufters.

What size punch needle works best for this cloth?

I was able to use a 10 and 14 Oxford with nice results

Is the size really 78x157in?

Great quality!

We gave tried lots of fabrics and this is our favorite for rug tufting. Its the perfect thickness and doesn’t get snagged on your tufting gun. The lines are very helpful for keeping your work straight. It doesn’t fray and holds up great.

Pretty nice for the price

I've bought this cloth about 2-3 times now and for the price it's pretty good. Stretches well, super soft, and it comes with a nice threader for your gun, and a spatula for gluing the rug. Comes packaged nicely and always fast. My only thing is sadly I lose a lot of tension after awhile and I really don't like re-stretching it. For bigger and more detailed Rugs I'll have to find a different cloth but so far this is some really good cloth I'd use even for punch needle projects.
