Good design. A shame about the oversize rubber foot pad.
The pedal is a good size, so it remains stable on the floor when you stomp on it. The light isn’t blinding bright, but it’s not too dim either. The controls are good, with a guard rail prevent your foot from hitting the controls. It is built like a tank, so no complaints about build quality.I bought two of these because I like the headphone jack. Something you want to play through headphone and this is ideal for that.It comes pre-loaded with a 9v battery, so just plug your guitar in one side and your headphone in the other and away you go. But be warned changing the battery requires a screw driver. Not a deal breaker as most other brands, also require a screw driver to replace the battery. This is not ideal for a pedal board as the grip tape will not stick to the rubber foot pad, so to fit it to a pedal you will need to remove the big rubber foot pad. Also the only way to truly power this down is to unplug the guitar input. If you are travelling with an electric guitar and can only take one pedal, this would be the pedal to take. A little bit of vintage overdrive and a headphone jack. If you are worried about the batteries going flat, just unplug the guitar input and that break the circuit, forcing the unit off.

Very versatile
I got this partly in an attempt at a minimal practice rig for travelling with my Telecaster, partly as another OD pedal to try out with my amp.I have an Orange Tube amp (Rocker 15), and I haven't really decided I love this drive pedal with it. The Rocker 15 has tons of gain available on it's dirty channel and it has a similar flavor in a lot of ways to what the getaway driver produces. I may find a good setup that I like with this pedal but it hasn't been easy. This pedal also seems to introduce a good amount of hissing sound when engaged with my amp when you're not playing. Using this with non-Orange amps it might behave totally different.I sometimes practice in a rehearsal room that has an Orange Crush 35RT. I like the Getaway driver there quite a bit with the 35RT because the gain/distortion provided by the pedal can have a superior quality to that provided by the amp alone. This pedal is also pretty nice for a headphone setup. It takes a little time to dial it in. I've used it with Sony MDR-7506 pedals and I have a Telecaster with single coil pedals. I end up having to turn up the volume very high on the pedal in order to get good volume out of the headphones, particularly for a clean sound. But you can get everything from clean to high gain through the pedal into the headphones, it's all there and sounds pretty good, certainly enough to be a good practice tool.

Sounds fantastic
This FX box is the real business. Sounds fantastic with my Les Paul and an old tube amp. I was looking for that nice compressed Orange overdrive which is a bit softer than the Plexi sound. This box certainly has the "Orange" sound. It appears to work differently to most dirt box's as it is "An amp in a box" It has loads of gain, so sounds best and more controllable with lower gain and level settings, otherwise this thing could blow the front end off an amplifier!

Grande Orange!
