Convinced the flying squirrels to relocate!
The short: I used four of these lights in my attic and the flying squirrels disliked them enough to leave! The interesting long: We heard noises above us at night, and our pest people told us we had flying squirrels and set a few kill traps to be sure. Yes, that's what we had, and seeing the little cute things dead in the traps was hard for my soft-on-animals heart. We set a few more anyway, but these things are smart and moved to a different area (above my closet) to avoid the "predator". So we paid $100 to have a critter expert tell us what we needed to do to keep them out, and we hired our less-expensive contractor to do that work. But that doesn't really solve the problem of the ones that are in danger of being sealed in, does it? The options are to let them die, set kill traps and possibly leave some to starve to death (it's baby season!), set live traps and one by one relocate them at least 10 miles away (and still possibly leave babies behind), or convince them to relocate before the sealing-in project. Since we aren't angry at these critters and don't want to deal with foul smells, we opted to try the mental approach. So I researched and researched. And researched. My conclusion was that the sonar things wouldn't work, and the smell things would be too iffy and numerous and high maintenance. There were people who vowed they had success with strobe lights though so we looked for those. There is one that is specifically advertised for critters but it is $150+ for each one and given the twisty-turny attic we have, that would mean $600 plus the work of installing them, all in *hopes* they'll work and a not-so-great return policy. Nope. Well, we found these little guys for $20 each and, thanks to Prime, could return them if they didn't work. Yes. But we did also have to buy extension cords because the cords on these are only like two feet (maybe), and then we also had to get one of those light socket adapters that have an outlet on them. Note: the strobe lights are two-pronged; no need for the third ground prong. Still- all that was cheaper than just one of those other lights! So I did a simple placement of the four strobes and within two days I did not hear any more activity above my closet- hooray!! But I did still hear them above the ceiling in the living room. For a few days I just hoped that was them packing up their babies and leaving, but after a week realized that they just decided to concentrate in a non-strobed area. (Isn't that what you would do??) So.... I blocked an hour, donned two headlamps, wore my smartwatch in case *something* happened, made a bag with a staple gun and more extension cords, and began my serious investigation. (One thing I did NOT have on which I should have was a mask!!) I am a limber 5'0" 120lbs so maneuvering around the joists and ducts was fairly easy, but I can't imagine if I was not so.... Anyway, I found even better places to move the lights to and secured them! That was Saturday, and today is Monday. This morning (I get up early!) I heard nothing, sweet nothing. I call this a victory, and hopefully my contractor shows up soon. What I love about these lights: 1) Affordable!! 2) Small but mighty 3) Very lightweight 4) After a week of running all the time, they were still cold to the touch 4) The strobe effect is adjustable, so I suppose we can also use them at Halloween (we currently have them on full blast) 5) the cords are narrow enough that the staple gun had no issuesJust one tip: Do not have any other lights on while using these, as the strobe effect will be diminished. Although I used a socket adapter, there is no light screwed in. If you have windows in your attic, you will want to somehow limit the natural light that comes in.Last note: customer service on these is fantastic!

Great strobe light! Gets the job done!
My family and I were hearing unpleasant scratching sounds coming from the ceiling and discovered there were squirrels in our attic! We placed the Mini Strobe Light in the attic one day ago and we have not heard any scratching sounds since. I also went to check the attic to double check if there were any unwelcome guests but we found no signs of squirrels! The light worked perfectly and scared them away. The light itself is compact and easy to move around. The price is fair and the light comes in a well-packaged and secure box. This is a very good product and worth every penny! Thank you Roxant!

Really bright for such a little light!
We are really happy with this mini strobe light. We are redoing our basement, so underneath our house is exposed. We wanted the mini strobe for keeping the critters away. The price seemed fair . At first It seemed flimsy and light, but it is perfect! Does not get hot which I was worried about. Would recommend this product. We also liked the different settings. Nice little compact light, looks are deceiving !
