Baofeng BF-H6 Fantastic Radio.
The Baofeng BF-H6 Ham Radio is an excellent Radio. The vendor was nice, quick and threw in some extra stuff with this deal. Radio is solid, and it is programmable via CHIRP. Nice Sound, Nice solid construction, easy to hold, and is very loud when you crank up the volume. It is not distorted. You cannot go wrong with this purchase. Does it do everything that I want it to do? There are a couple of things that I would have liked to have, but I can live without them. Excellent 10watt output.

Good Choice for the Money
I have had good experiences with Baofeng's. I expect this one will be the same. I do need to find out how to program it on Chirp as Chirp is not seeing it. Not looking forward to manually programming it. Perhaps that is a skill i need to learn better. On to YouTube and Ham Radio Crash Course.

Very Good Radio
Started studying for my tech HAM license and decided I needed a little hands on to gain experience and not break the bank. Very good radio. Downloaded CHIRP (must have since some manual programing doesn't seem to save), selected TIDRADIO-TD-H6 and started programming. I have used the Abbree AR-771 antenna which came as an accessory, I have listened to stations located 4, 7, 11, and one almost 22 miles away. The 22 mile station was while I stood in an open field on high ground. Notice I said listen and not talk, I don't have that license yet. Also used the earpiece, which is OK for now. Also got a base and car charger. You'll need to take the base with you in the car. The batteries have good life, I only use the radio 2-3 hours a day and change out the batteries after 2 days no matter what. You can charge the battery without having the radio attached. Two batteries is a must have in my opinion.

Your unit may or may not work with CHIRP.
Before buying this radio, which does happen to be an otherwise great radio, just know that depending on when your unit was manufactured, it may or may not work with CHIRP. It’s a gamble. If your radio was manufactured before mid-2023, you can program it with the CHIRP using the Radioddity GA-510 driver. No problem. However, if your unit was manufactured in or after that time, you will need to program it with the Radioddity proprietary software - which is a pain in the rear end to use.Otherwise, it is a great radio. It sounds great, and it hits local repeaters with ease.Caveat emptor

Delivery problems
I am sure the radio is amazing. I unfortunately have not yet received mine due to shipping issues. This problem is assured from such a good company like Amazon

Remarkable upgrade from a UV-5R
Been playing with this for a full day now, and I'm impressed. If you're familiar with the Baofeng UV series, this one definitely is in the same family as the UV-5R/UV-5G/UV-9R models. However, it has some significant improvements. The battery is solid, allowing for over 4 hours of transmitting/receiving on a local repeater and only losing 1 bar.The interface and display are a true step above prior Baofengs. Easy to read, in even bright direct sunlight due to the backlight. I do like that the lower side button comes programmed to switch power levels, in Channel Mode.(Included pictures censored because one of the channels I programmed has a profane word in it. Heh.)I haven't tested the output with a meter yet - however, with the included rubber duck, I was getting plenty of distance with clear transmissions, and attaching it to my outdoor elevated antenna allows this to get base station level range, via Simplex. I'm actually building a base station, and this will do until I get a mobile unit.Programming via CHIRP was a snap. As the other reviews noted, make sure to set CHIRP to Radioddity GA-510 driver. I had zero issues using one of my K-style programming cables. One thing that was great was the sound quality and output. It feels like they used a MUCH better speaker for this model.About the ONLY thing I don't like about this unit is it uses a proprietary charging cradle that doesn't fit other Baofengs I own, and vice-versa. Neither the UV-5R or UV-9R fit this cradle. Also, there's a VERY bright green light on the cradle that never turns off unless you disconnect the cradle from the electrical outlet entirely. (I dimmed mine with semi-opaque black duct tape.)All in all, an excellent radio!
