Silentnight Safe Nights Quilted Cot Bed Waterproof Mattress Protector

“Silent Night” has not lived up to its name here. Since using the mattress protector in my babies cot her sleep has been awful.I’ve persevered for 2 months (6-8months old) thinking it was the transition to the cot that was the issue but the sleep just got worse. I’m talking waking every 30 minutes some nights. I started to find her sleep was always better if she slept elsewhere but again put it down to her then being nearer me but after a flawless nights sleep at Grandma’s I thought I’d try her in her cot without the protector on as it was quite rustly so maybe that was bothering her - she also sweats a lot from her head in sleep which was worse when using the protector.2 nights now since I removed the protector and all her sleep has been perfect since! She is now sleeping for 4 - 5 hour stretches which is so welcome after her 30min - 1 hour wakes.I can only conclude that the protector was waking her due to being too noisy when she stirred as well as causing her to get very warm.I’ll now be looking to get a mattress protector in the next size up from who I got her one from for her next to me crib as never had an issue with that … wishing I’d done that in the first place.

I brought two of these for my 8month old and 1 year olds cot beds. Once received I opened and straight away on the front of the package it says suitable for 12 months plus. No where in this add or photos does it state this. Which is disappointing and dangerous as the writing is small on the PACKAGING and someone might not see it. I only noticed it as it was on my table and I happened to read the front. I decided to use one of the ones I ordered for my older sons bed. Once opened it is very plastic on the edges and makes a ruffle sound when on the bed. It is also useless on a mattress that is not very firm as it runs a bit large so does not fit snug. This is also not breathable materials, you can see that air gets trapped underneath it as it makes the bed pouffe. Will not be using and seeing if I can get a refund. Very disappointing

The packaging described 70x140 mattress protector, I ordered 2, washed them both by following the instructions and they are far too short in length. They bend the mattress completely and no way they will stretch to fit I expected better from silent night and am returning.

Had to replace same protector I had fow over 5 years due to be damaged in the dryer by the zip from other item. Otherwise it would of lasted much longer! Went straight onto ordering replacement from the same brand! Even package say not suitable for under 12 month, but we always had it from birth with the cot sheet over it! Such a handful item to keep the mattress clean. Through the baby still in nappies, but other unexpected thing could happen meanwhile. So protector is purely for hygienic reason and made to keep your mattress last longer.

I panicked and bought the first mattress protector I found and to be honest I'm glad I did. It has washed well and although not been used properly by baby yet, it makes the mattress feel nicely cushioned.I would buy it again.
