So firstly In the last couple of years I have developed problems with my left arm so I was looking for a new Vacuum Cleaner, cordless, holds the charge, light weight, good suction and easy to use. For over Twenty years I have stayed with Dyson but have slowly become disappointed in there products the cost being too high and not performing to the standard you would expect from a premium Vacuum Cleaner.When I saw this for a fraction of the cost for an equivalent Dyson I decided it was time to give it a try and I am so pleased I did. I live in a three bedroom semi so a modest size house and this holds its charge really well using a combination of full power and those head lights I love them its a novelty to not need to use your main room lights but the fact that its like saying to me hey thanks for the purchase now let me give you some energy savings. Obviously the lights were placed there for when you hoover underneath furniture another great easy to use function I might add.So yes I am super pleased with this Vacuum Cleaner, super pleased with its features, ease of use and innovations so top marks all around and packed with plenty of tools It would be nice if they could design a flexible duster with softer bristles so you could do the table tops easier but that is my only critique of this wonderful machine.Thankyou shark and Thankyou Amazon

Without sounding dramatic, this hoover has honestly been life changing.We previously had a Dyson animal, which always got clogged, stopped spinning lots and I was always cutting hair off it. After using this once on my carpets the chamber was FULL of dust and dog hair, to a much greater extent than my Dyson ever did. I was gobsmacked at just how much it sucked up and just how much the Dyson was clearly missing.It’s brilliant on hard floors too as I can actually see the dirt it’s sucking up thanks to the light on the front. I love that you can change the setting for hard floors and carpets as our downstairs is completely wooden floors and upstairs is carpeted.This hoover is quite heavy which I can imagine would be an issue if you struggle to lift things. Saying this it is much nicer on your hands than other hand held hoovers as you don’t have to pull up the button to make it work - this always made my hands sore if doing multiple rooms.When on carpet mode it does feel like it’s pulling slightly which can make it harder to pull back. However this is not something I see as an issue as it doesn’t make it too hard for me but I could see it making life difficult for some people.I would honestly recommend this to anyone as it has everything you need in the attachments and just has an overall expensive feel to it (I mean it is expensive but feels it compared to other hoovers at the same price point). I couldn’t be happier with it and haven’t ever gasped in excitement so much when opening and using a hoover for the first time!

I bought this on a reduced price deal, and it is certainly a wonderful vacuum cleaner. It is lightweight, powerful, no fuss. However, the battery life is short! Very short. The battery also just stops with no warning/low battery alarm, which makes it rather annoying when in the middle of a clean. The only option is to either charge up every time, or buy a backup battery (which is quite expensive).A further concern is the relatively poor upright stability when in storage. I would suggest the vacuum is placed on a hook to prevent it slipping forwards and then smashing its dirt bin on the floor.That said - it is a great vacuum. The car cleaning pack is useful as is the ability to break it down to clean stairs and other awkward places. The suction power is great, removing pet hair and the anti hair wrap brushes work as expected.It is a good purchase - particularly at the price point I bought it at (£273).

So the hoover works great. Does Fill up quite quickly which reduces the suction. So have to stay on top of that and make sure to empty it.Not very good getting into edges especially with carpet. Can't always be bothered to get the other peices out for the edge specificallyThe main floor piece has two rollers on it. The front on does detach to clean it however I haven't yet found a way to detach the 2nd one so I'm assuming it doesn't come offThe battery lasts well I like that it has lights on it so does give me an idea of how much is left. There are 3 lights so it "breaks" the battery into 30% each . The battery lasts about a week with daily use for about 10 minutes .It is great other than that would recommend. Now I'm always hoovering up whenever there's a bit if mess around. I actually even use it to hoover up cobwebs on the ceilingOh that reminds me it is a bit heavy. I'm young so my hands and arms can bear it but my mum does find it heavy after prolonged use. She can use it for minute or so. So I wouldn't recommend it for the frail ( I don't mean it offensively - its the only word I can think of that fits the bill - my mum has pain in her wrists and finds it difficult to do strenuous work)

I am really delighted with my Shark IX201UK. It does a great job, it is very well made and clever in design. I love the way it folds under low furniture. Suction is good and I charge after 3 days of use. The accessories are well thought out and easy to install. Emptying the dirt is a breeze.I would like to see three minor improvements. The on-off switch could be more ergonomically designed to be easier to operate with the thumb. Sometimes the small rollers under the main cleaning head get clogged with pet hair. It would be nice to be able to pop these rollers out to facilitate cleaning. Also the suction is a little too high when cleaning lightweight rugs. Being able to reduce the power below normal when cleaning mats or small rugs would be helpful.Overall this machine is marvellous and I now enjoy keeping my apartment spotless, whereas before with a mains operated 'drag behind me' hoover, it was a chore. well done Shark!
