Wanted to add some mechanical filtration to my reef tank, and I was deciding between this product and adding a fleece rollermat. I was hesitant to get a auto fleece roller because they are pricey upfront and are somewhat prone to mechanical failure. At the end of the day, I decided I would rather have something that requires a little bit of attention every couple days instead of another piece of equipment to fiddle with and potentially repair, clean, and maintain. I think I made the right choice going with these disposable socks.For my 90G tank, these are lasting almost exactly 48H before they begin to overflow and clog and need to be replaced. It takes me about 60 seconds to change out. I am reminded to change them out when I hear that trickle of water coming over the top of the flange. So that means going through about 15 of these a month. It sounds like a lot at first, but the cost is actually quite comparable to the replacement fleece rolls for a fleece roller like the red sea reefmat.I have noticed an increase in the clarity of my water since starting this. It pulls out a lot of gunk and I'm always impressed with all the sludge and weird stuff that's in there when I change it out. Overall I'm very happy and I will probably be buying these for a long time.

Ok, I read the reviews and people were saying 3 days.. I have no idea what kinda of mess tank they have. So I'm going to tell you, I have a 220 gallon salt tank, established 12 years ago, both coral and fish. I rarely do water changes since I have a natural sump filter.. like once every two months, I have hard and soft corals, a doser and o2 filter.. I change these socks every two to three WEEKS. So if your like me, the are literally so amazing, I'm so glad I don't have to clean nasty filter socks anymore!!

This makes changing sump filter socks SOOO MUCH EASIER!!! I don’t think I can go back to the regular ones.

Super easy and no washing. Could be a bit thicker mill, not much just a tad.

I think these guys are onto something here. The socks do get a clogged up a bit but they are super easy. So as long as you are okay with doing the sock removal and replacement every 3 days (In my tank) they work great! Good Idea and much easier.

No more cleaning nasty filter socks. More importantly a happy wife! No nasty socks in the washing machine or sink. It now takes 30 seconds to change a filter sock then toss the dirty one. Great product!!

I swap these out every 3-4 days. They filter well and I save time and mess not cleaning cloth socks.

Priced high but does do a very good job in my aquarium.

I've been using this for a while I haven't had a single one tear Which was my concern when I saw how thin they were And my water is very clear They do balloon But that is not an issue in my filter And if you find them over flowing too fast As I've seen in other reviews Then your flow is too high or your water is horribly Dirty.
