MonroeReflex 911304 Suspension Shock Absorber for Jeep Grand Cherokee

These shocks had a different top mount end (flattened edges of shaft) compared to the original (hex end of shaft) so that I had to grind the shaft end to accept the tools I had. With 20 minutes of work, I was able to install very easily.

Just as the other reviewers have mentioned, this won’t fit and it’s not a good quality. It compressed very easily with about 50-60 pounds of force.

Bought these for my 2015 Grand Cherokee Limited. Despite the negative reviews surrounding install, they do fit the factory shock mount fine. It takes some patience getting the top bolt off, would recommend a quality impact driver. You will need to hold the inner lower portion with players while doing this, or purchase a shock removal tool. Install was about 45 mins each in my garage.Ride quality is equal to factory shocks so far and no wheel alignment is necessary if only doing the rears.

Would possibly have to also buy the upper bushing mount and dust cover, I assume the Monroe bushing mount fits the Monroe shock.The shock shaft (threaded end) is shorter and smaller diameter than the stock ones I had on, the dust cover and original shock mount would not fit over the Monroe shock. It is not a direct replacement for the stock ones. These are the first Monroe shocks I've bought that did not fit what they said they fit. I even verified on Monroe website that these were the right shocks before I ordered. What a pain, take off old one, only to have to put it back on again.
